Today I Die

In about 4 hours I will undergo a routine medical procedure that involves sticking a catheter into my heart! One in a thousand of these procedures can cause death in the patient. Now I know it's unlikely but I can't help but think about it occasionally. However i am lying here in my bed listening to choral music and checking myLot! Not quite what I envisaged that I might be doing on my final night on Earth! If you don't get a response to any comment you make to this discussion you will know that I am with the angels - or my computer gas gone down! How would you like to spend your last night on Earth?

Talking rubbish with a friend of mine I think. Failing that just being all by my own self with a good book. I'm not planning on going yet so I might change my mind by then.

On the lot of course feeling sorry for myself! LOL Seriously though Mr. Fish, I'm glad you're here and showing the proverbial stiff upper British lip. You will be fine. Your lotters wouldn't have it any other way! Check in when you can and reassure us that the angels will just have to wait another lifetime for you!

Heck pikey, we won`t allow you to die,not yet, and even if you do,we`ll fish you out from the heavens and bring you back on earth.I have heard of catheters being inserted in other place but in the head? What on earth is supposed to come out from the head? You have me stumped chum.Anyway whatever it is that you are going to be operated on, i am sure you will pull through effortlessly and we shall hear from you very soon.Good luck my friend.Don`t want you to create a traffic jam in the skies flying around in a bedsheet, with a pair of wings and a harp in your hands.

Well, it has now been 18 hours and still no reply from P1key on this discussion so I hope you are still with us my friend! Maybe you are just letting the suspense build? I am sure that you will be fine. My last night on earth , (if I knew it was coming) would be spent with family and close friends getting completely drunk (who cares about the hangover at that stage) and listening to my favourite music while going through home videos and old photos. But if I was still up for it physically, I might like to swim naked in the sea or something like that!

My husband had a stent put in an artery 2 years ago. They put in a catheter through his thigh, and put the stent in through the catheter, to the artery. It is a routine procedure that has become very common place nowadays. Things should go smoothly for you. If it was my last night on earth, I would spend it with my loved ones, reading the Bible, and getting ready to take the Glory-Bound Train to Heaven!!!

There's nothing like concentrating on the positive ;-) I think I'd probably choose to spend my final night on earth just doing normal everyday stuff. Since I've been away I've realised how much I value snuggling up with my kids to read or chat, and talking the day over with my partner. So, if I had a choice, that's what I'd like to spend my time doing. Good luck with the procedure. You are now morally obliged to race home and log onto myLot as the world awaits your responses with their hearts in their mouths!

By my calculation you're probably having your procedure right now, so I hope it's going really well. Sending you lots of healing thoughts. Well, I'm sure that wasn't your last night on earth, but I imagine I would be doing similar things on mine! Ideally I'd like to be doing something relaxing, like meditating or maybe having a nice massage! It would also be nice if it involved having a nice meal, lol! But seeing as most nights are spent in front of my computer or the television, then it's likely that's what I'd be doing. I hope your procedure wasn't too traumatic and that you're now getting spoilt.

On my last night on earth I would like to have a vision of God. I don't know of anything more comforting than that.

I would like to spend the last day and the night with my family members..And leave that alone. I'm sure you would be here tomorrow or the day after to comment back to our responses. After all it is a routine medical procedure and why should we think you to be one of that thousand. God bless you.

I would like to spend my last night on Earth with my husband, probably having dinner at our favourite Serbian restaurant, and just enjoying our time together.

Doing exactly what I normally do. Loving and appreciating life, those around me, and the universe. Eat a delicious breakfast, have a great yoga practice, and bond with all of my loved ones. I think every moment could be the last so it deserves to be embraced.
