Hi friends, Praveen who sustained an elbow injury during the South Africa ODI series failed to recuperate in time and was ruled out after it became clear that he won't be fit by the time India play their first match against Bangladesh on February 19. Praveen Kumar has been ruled out of the ICC CWC 2011 due to an elbow injury. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked S Sreesanth as Praveen Kumar's replacement in the Indian team for the tournament. I will definitely miss Praveen Kumar but happy for Sreesanth as he will get a chance to prove himself. Your thoughts?

I am happy with the replacements but I would love to see both of them performing. He is performing well in the recent matches so, good for him. I thought sreesanth deserved a place ahead of nehra or chawla . Nehra is too expensive on many occasions and we have 4 part time spinning options in Yuvraj, Pathan, sehwag and Raina so no need of an extra spinner if we are not going to give him a chance. So I thought Rohit Sharma should have been in the team also.

He could have been part of playing 11 but his injury did not allow to play so will have to accept. Srisanth need to prove himself in 2011. Thank You for sharing.

Hi Ajay, It is very bad that Praveen is going to miss the World cup.It must have been a dream for him to play in the World cup.But his dreams have got buried to the graves. The replacement is not good for Praveen.I think either a batsman or a wicket keeper should be taken in the squad instead of a bowler.Sreesanth is not so good with his bowling. He is the most expensive fast bowler among the others. He often gets into controversies when the batsmen hits him for fours and sixes. Have a great day.

I can understand his feeling about not being part of World Cup 2011 but I feel Srisanth will do good. Thank You for sharing.
