When I was still a regular customer service rep, I always have the feeling of vulnerability because there is a risk of getting fired if I made a mistake, Its very stressful specially if most of the calls I receive then were irate people. So a single mistake can cause me the Job. I was promoted into a team leader but Is till receive calls so Is till have that uncomfortable pressure from making mistakes. Then I got promoted again as a Quality Assurance rep. I dont receive calls anymore, I just spy on the calls of every agent and check who were making violations. I thought this Job is easy but its hard, not only my working hours is longer, I have to report agents who were doing violations and or not performing well. I have to be heartless on this Job. Some of my friends felt insulted when i warned them they were doing violations while talking to clients but I can endure that. There is this guy who is only at the company for a month and for 3 times he told the client he is Filipino,(which is not allowed) then he tried having casual conversations with client, then speaks Tagalog without muting the telephone. I tried to warn him but he keeps on doing it. I am also at risk if I wont report people doing violations because its my responsibility. He lost his Job and he is a father with 4 kids and a pregnant wife. I felt bad but what can I do, I have to report people, That is my Job. Some of my friends at work are mad at me if they got reported as well. A person just got fired because of me and I hope that is the last. I felt so bad.

It is normal to feel bad about it but that is your job. They won't feel bad and they won't be reported and warned if they do their job. That should serve as a lesson to everyone in your team or company. As for that man, well I guess he has learned his lesson to keep his job now that he's feeding a big family.

I have a feeling he wants to kill me, I'm not the only QAR though but the moment he is leaving the building, I saw something mad in his eyes. Reality sinks in and its so hard to accept.I felt like I'm a rude person. Its like a ruined someone's life. I have to be heartless....of all positions I will be promoted to. i'm not a bad person.

You're not a bad person. You just did your job. You have warned him before about the things he did that are against your job. It is his fault. He doesn't have the right to hate you but he should hate himself for being careless and hardheaded.

I just hope he founds a new Job and he should not think about revenge, its his fault not mine. I spared him before but there is nothing else I can do now. There is this woman who is also in trouble and I'm nervous for her.

look at this way. you survived the ropes when it came to the job your friends are now doing. they couldn't make the cut but you did. i'm just guessing but maybe you work for microsoft customer service. i talked to the once and the guy on the phone said he can't tell where he works. thats kind of a wierd rule but i could really tell by the accent.

The company where I work for is more strict than Microsoft because they fire people who doesnt have standard American accent. if they sound fake, they will be fired. But yeah dont ask customer service people where do they work, it will put them in trouble, specially if you asked them if they were really American.

I'm getting used to this. I just wish people some good luck after they got fired. I still feel awful but I feel less miserable now.
