?Carbon Monoxide poisoning?

i remember few years ago, A famous singer goes to the mall with her mom, dad and brother, I think her Mom and her wants to go shopping more, while her brother and father felt to tired, so they decided to just rest inside the car and sleep. The car air-conditioners emits Carbon Monoxide if its on while the car is not running and just stays in 1 place. So while sleeping, Her dad and brother were poisoned by the incident, her dad became paralyzed and her brother died.
I also remember the incident of 2 college lovers who decided to make love inside their car in a parking lot. if people want to have sexy time inside a car that is not running, they must remember to either keep the windows open or turn off the air-conditioner, what they did is a long lvoe making not a car quickie, so they didn't notice the air-condition of the car releases Carbon monoxide so they died while making love.
-------
Now another incident happened, While celebrating a new years party, A group f friends wanted to have music in their party, but their radio or CD player is not working, so one of them decided to get his car inside the house (I dont know how did a car fits inside a house) open the car's door and engine and play music with it's stereo, while everyone is dancing in the music, they didn't notice that the Carbon Monoxide emissions of the car kills them.
9 people died because of this dumbness.

The second is a stupid accident. I don't understand how people don't know that you must not run an oil motor inside a house
.
Carbon monoxide is very dangerous because it has no smell and can kill you in less than a minute. Each time I have excavated an old well it has been a true fear when there was wood or vegetation in decomposition. Even with a good ventilation, you have sometimes real headaches showing that there is a lot of carbon monoxide and you can't stay more than half an hour. With an electric winch, you need about five minutes to descend to the bottom of a 30 meter well, so you can't expect any help in time if you have an accident with carbon monoxide.

Not sure that it is carbon monoxide in gas. With a wood or coal heater, it is, and you can also be killed by a bad chimney. When you think about it, it is scary than, when you merge two useful atoms of carbon and oxygen in a simple molecule, CO, you get a natural born killer, odorless and tasteless

I am far from an expert on the subject, but I do know that when we were having problems with the furnace, the guy that comes to service it said that we were very lucky. He said that there was a problem with it (I don't remember what it was now), but that if it had gone on much longer we would have either had a carbon monoxide leak or the house would have burned down.
We use fuel oil, so I know that can emit carbon monoxide if there is a malfunction of the furnace.

I did not know that it was poisonous at such a low level. We have carbon monoxide detectors in the house, but now I am wondering whether or not they would really be effective at detecting such a low level of the gas. I have heard of people being alerted by their detectors, though, so I guess that they are designed to pick up on even a slight amount of the gas.
