Hello everybody, I've heard a lot of rumors about mylot, but the one I read yesterday made me wonder if there is any true in it or not. I read in a blog create by a Romanian guy that being the first who respond to a discussion will bring you more money. Do you think this is true or false? What other myths regarding mylot have you heard?

Thank you goaskalice for you found some time to clear things up for me. Hatley, I don't know where did that guy take this idea from. I was just curious to know if he was right or not. Maybe I should write a comment to his blog to see if I can find the answer. herbertconaway, the idea was not mine. I just read it on the Internet and I wanted to find out others opinions about it. Luckily I got the response I wanted.

to earn more money in mylot, we should send posts of high quality. it doesn't matter whether you respond first or last. sometimes i don't like to be the first responder because i like to see what other mylotter think of a certain thing before i give mine.

I think you are the only one who say that! I don't like to respond to discussions where there are many other responses. If I respond to such discussion, I should read all the previous answers and this is a thing I don't like, because I don't have too much time to be here. Do you still respond to a discussion with four pages of responses?

Hello Octav, I'm afraid this discussion will be deleted, as we are not suppose to talk about earnings here. I don't know if the rumor you heard has any truth in it, but yes, I've had my share of myths about myLot. When I joined myLot, I read somewhere on the Internet that we can upload hundreds of pictures here. I was a little disappointed when I registered and I saw that I couldn't upload too many photos in a day. Lucky me I liked all the other things about myLot and I remained here.

Haven't you seen that some users are playing here and when a new discussion is started they rush to respond first, saying only "First!" ? Why do they do this?

I don't think it is true. The earning is according to the quality of your responses. Usually the longer and detailed responses are regarded to be the quality ones. It doesn't matter whether you are the first one to respond to it or not. I love China

If you read the responses from the first page, you'll see that you are right. But then I still wonder why do we have in the menu the option to see the discussions with no replies?

Octav1 there are a lot of blogs out there with people making up all sorts of crap so disregard the Romaniand guy as another moron making up stuff about mylot. No go read the mylot information as I did. I does nmot say we get more for being first to respond. no that is a stupid myth from someone who probably does not even have an account here. I have heard such dumb stuff like some nationalities are paid better than others again just a myth, and some real moron claims falsely we get paid for other peoples responses which also is a myth;my G mylot would have to pay out so much they would go broke. no most of that stuff is just crap

Thank you for your kind response, Hatley. :) I don't know that guy as a person, I just run into his blog and read it. There are a lot of rumors about mylot and I think it is better to clear things up instead of just believe in rumors. And who could help me to clear things up than you, older users of mylot. Thank you again.

I don't think that is true at all. Any mylotter that has been here long enough will tell you quality over quantity. I would say the biggest myth is that you need to respond to a lot of discussions. Mylotters need to spend more time on the discussions and actually have a discussion rather than worry about how many discussions you have replied and commented on. When I began to forget about the earnings on mylot then I started to earn more. I think that you should take mylot has a place to come to talk and have good discussions. Look at the money as an added bonus. You will probably end up earning more anyway. I have also noticed that when I start a discussion and comment on all the replies then my earnings go up. So mylot really is about the discussions. A real discussion has people talking back and forth. So that is what you should do here. There are really no tricks to earning more money on mylot. Just find discussions that you are interested in, reply to them, comment on replies. Start discussions and comment to the people that you reply to. Hope this helps!

I'm sorry for the late response. I almost forgot about this discussion of mine. Of course that when you enjoy your discussions with your friends, you will forget about the money. It is great that we can earn here from doing something that we like to do - chatting back and forth! I never worried about the number of discussions as I never had a specific goal in mylot. I enjoy every moment here, it doesn't count how many posts I write.

I also don't think that is true. Like I've said before it is hard to figure out the computation of earnings here. I suggest that you just enjoy reading and posting like everybody else here.

But I enjoy my time here! The only thing that bothers me is that I don't have enough time to be here. Look, I started this discussion a week ago and only today I have time to read it. When you don't have too much time, you wonder what to do in order to make your time here more productive, don't you think so?

I don't think there's any truth to that. But I do try to respond first to a certain topic so that my response will not be influenced by the other comments made. Besides, there's a big possibility that someone has already given a response similar to what I was gonna say.

I knew about this opportunity we have when we are the first who respond to a discussion. But I was only curious if we earn more from this. Now, if you read the answer the mylog admin gave below on this page, you will know the answer. :)

The answer is no. You do not earn more by being the first to respond to a discussion. In fact, if your response is very short, you may not be paid anything at all for it. The quality and length of the response are what count, not whether it's first, last, or somewhere inbetween.

I know we are not paid for short answers. That's why I try to write longer responses, but without neglecting the quality of my posts. But what if you write a longer response and you are the first who respond to a new discussion? Would this bring you more money than if you wrote the same long response as the third or the second in the same discussion? - this was what bothered me. Now the admin cleared everything out by posting the response below yours. Thank you for your response.

Hi there Octav1!!! Well I think this is not true coz no matter how I try to be the first to respond in a discussion my earnings don't go up that much.I think mylot pays the same regardless of being first or last in the list of those who are responding in the discussion. If ever this is true maybe I have already earn more but sadly its is not true so I am still earning the same amount.I guess this one is a myth and its not really true.I guess we should just all do everything that we can to earn more here in mylot.

Well, according to all the answers to this topic, "the first respondent is paid more" has been proven to be a myth. Now I'm curious about you, have you heard another myth about mylot? Something that you believed it was true and then you found it was a fake?

As you can see from the rules and regulations of my lot, there is no such a rule that being the first to respond will have more money. I once responded first in a discussion, I couldn't see more money given to me. So I think it's untrue and just follow its rules.

Of course, if you just respond to a discussion and say "First!" (as I saw some users were doing here), you won't earn anything. But what if you write a meaningful response? Is there any chance to earn more?
