The forever stamp has come along to insure we won't pay extra for postage when the postal rates increase. i think the forever stamp is a great idea. It is one less burden to have when we hear about new postal rates in our future. Many historical figures are greatley deserving to have their faces portrayed on a forever stamp. President Ronald reagan is now gracing us with a forever stamp in his name. What historical figure do you think is most deserving of this honor?

My vote is for Harriet Tubman. She was born a slave and freed a bunch of her fellow slaves from bondage. That's a very American and patriotic action, in the best sense of either description. Totally deserving of forever postage!

Harriet Tubman was quite a woman indeed. there will probably never be another person like her who would do so much for a noble cause. i agree with you that she is deserving of having her face on a stamp for all to honor.

sender why not use some classical people who made the first really great classical music like Beethoven and Bach and of cou rse Mozart. anyone who has not listened to classical music has missed something wonderful and melodious too. Also how Eisenhower for what he did in world war two?Sister Kenny would also be a good person for a stamp for all she did for infantile paralysis.

Hi Sender, I would not recommend a person for sure, because when people start thinking in terms of faces, they normally get biased... like I love MJ some one may not be liking him kind of thing and that would lead to controversy... As the Postal Industry is under constant threat from the Internet, Cell Phones etc, I would recommend that they use some symbolic version from the Postal Industry itself instead of going by people.. maybe like a postman (sketched) handing out an envelope to some kid in an un-reachable locality kind of

Thank you for responding. You have some very good ideas about the postal system and your recommendations sound like terrific ideas. Who is to say that only someone popular can be marked with a forever stamp?
