Ditching Cable Soon

Canada

Well with the price of cable and, not much being on tv. It's time I scrap cable and, buy a good outdoor antenna. With a good antenna I can pull in close to 30 HD stations. The funny part free over the air has better picture quality then regular cable. Anything special I want to watch, I will just get off the internet. It's not like you need one of those huge 30 foot tower antennas anymore. I have also noticed how cheap antennas have got, over the years.

The only reason I have cable TV is that my cable Internet would cost more if I didn't have the TV part than both together cost. One thing to watch out for with an antenna is if all the broadcast stations are digital, they are here in the U.S. but I don't know about Canada, then the direction of the antenna can be critical. I have a small TV in my bedroom for when I am exercising that is not on cable but has a rabbit ear antenna and one station can be hard to get because the angle is different than the others. Now it may be more of a problem for me because all the local station broadcast antennas are on a nearby mountain top and I live in the foothills close to the mountain. People farther away from the mountain probably don't have the critical angle problem I have.
