I hope I am not the only one to do this! It is coming up to Shrove Tuesday or another name for it is pancake day. So we all make pancakes. When I see the advertisements on television to remind us what day it is or to buy lemons for them I suddenly get a craze for them and then think I love pancakes so why do I only have them on pancake day. it does not make sense!

Well I am a pancake lover so having pancakes any day is fine with me...but if you don't like them don't have them...find something else and call it your own named day...like sausage day.....I eat what I want! LOL

Here in the U.S. we do not call it Shrove Tuesday. We call it Mardi Gras and traditionally make and serve King Cake. The original idea of the king cake was that a bean was baked in the cake and the man who got the piece of cake with the bean in it was made the Mardi Gras king. Nowdays a small plastic baby is used in place of the bean. Mardi Gras is celebrated famously in New Orleans, Louisiana with multiple parades beginning on Sunday and then daily through Tuesday which is also called Fat Tuesday. The streets are lined with literally about a million people watching the parades and eating from various food and drink kiosks. I attended only one parade when I was living in the area and that was enough for a life time. So I think it is a good idea to stay at home and make pancakes.
