I'm kicking myself that I've not been watching this MUCH sooner! The Tudors is now in its 4th (and, sadly) final series and I'm totally hooked. It might have something to do with Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Henry VIII) or the guy who plays Culpepper as the pair of them are mesmerising..but I love it. Oh, and I think you may have seen it ALL outside the UK already so don't tell me the full plot lol. Here are the opening credits. Class! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkDwOZguQa8&feature=related

I never did watch it. I think it may have been on a pay-more channel and I didn't want to pay. I heard it was good, but I just never subscribed. I hope you find all the series you missed and get to watch them all.

When it gets nearer my birthday in March I shall make sure I'm on the Amazon website...er, looking at DVDs (hopefully The Tudors) as John walks past. D'you think he'll get the hint?

We have watched this last series together so I'm hoping he's enjoyed it as much as I have.

Having never have watched it...I know I wouldn't get a hint... Let's hope he's more intuitive than I am...or smarter...or something.

Hello, Janey. I haven't been watching this, as it takes far too many liberties with history for my liking, though I do like the look of Jonathan Rhys Meyers. I specialised in Tudor history when I did my degree, so I like to see it represented as it should be, with obviously a bit of dramatic licence to make for better viewing. If you like this, you'll love 'The Six Wives of Henry VIII.' It came out back in the 1970's, but it was very easy to watch, with Keith Michel as an excellent (and decorative, at least in the early days) Henry. It was what really got me into Tudor history, because it was both factual and entertaining. Glenda Jackson's 'Elizabeth R' was another brilliant but historically correct adaptation. I'm glad the programme is arousing new interest in Tudor history, but I just can't bring myself to watch it - sorry!

I agree. The Queen must put her foot down and disallow it. She should exert her power for once.

I would have liked to watch it, but I never did. There was always something else going on...

Believe me, it's total escapism so if you ever get the chance in future..take it!

Oh my is right, I was so hooked on that as I started watching during the second series and got so hooked that I went online and had a marathon. It took me a while but I watched each and every one of them. Wished there were plenty more as I would be right there again to watch. I won't give it away but you will absolutely love and end up wishing there were more.

I'm sure there will be a box set of the DVDs coming out when this last series ends. I don't know if it will be from Showtime or the BBC, we shall have to see. Either way, it will be a nice change from watching the West Wing DVDs we currently have. Anyhow, the episode we watched tonight was regarding (amongst other things) King James of Scotland not turning up at Henry VIII's request. He wasn't happy, not surprisingly..then he found out there was a bit of an invasion going on and he smashed his gift to smithereens! Jonathan Rhys Meyers is Irish and looks nothing like the "real" Henry VIII but do I care? Nope!! Anything is an improvement on Ray Winstone taking him off with a Cockney accent. Brilliant acting but the accent..oh dear, not sexy at all.

I've never seen 'The Borgias' but it sounds good! I love historical dramas and films in general. The actors must really get into their parts when they see their costumes..or not as the case may be as a lot of them take it off a lot of the time in 'The Tudors!'
