An improvement for myLot

Hi myLotters, Most off the people who started some tasks may have been spammed by myLot himself if someones completes your task. If you have things like a simple comment task you can get up to 100 messages a day. They're all the same so I don't want to open or delete them one by one. So I think this is a crucial function missing in myLot. I hope this get's implemented but I don't think myLot is getting further development... So now I'm stuck with hundreds off the same unread messages (:

If I am understanding you correctly you are saying that once a member completes a task they get spammed email?? If I am correct, then perhaps one should utilize a separate email and not their primary for such tasks. If I am not correct in understanding, my sincerest advance apology.

I think he wanted to say that he gave a task to do, and is receiving a notification every time that somebody does the task : he complains because his tasks are too popular .

Oh I see your explanation makes sense as if he stated 100 tasks and they get done, then confirmation is sent. Sounds like a repeated already formatted confirmation email, I see now, thanks topffer.

He stated 200 tasks. But the notifications are not useless, as he said that he will check and verify them. The fault is not at myLot, and if he does not want to see these notifications, he has just to learn how to filter them in his mail.

If I read you correctly, you are the Task Creator, right? In that case, these are NOT spam messages. They are NOTIFICATIONS that someone has accepted or completed your task and, as the Task Creator, you should read them in order to decide whether that person has completed the task and should be approved. The emails will all be from one email address and should all have the same or similar subject so it is easy to set up a filter to place them automatically in one folder or category rather than letting them clutter up your inbox. The answer is simple: If you don't like or can't handle such messages, DON'T create tasks! There is no 'crucial function' missing! It is an essential function which is necessary and helpful to task management.

Yes I'm the task creator. And I know they are notifications, but I like to call them spam. If you have ever created a task (and I think you have because you are very active here on myLot), did you always read the messages? I personally don't because I find every information needed when I select one off my tasks. I check my tasks everyday so all those messages are, in my opinion, just spam. There should at least be an option to put those messages off. Or just a bulk delete or an mark all as read option in your messages. I'm just giving suggestions for improvement, myLot is very good already, but we can never assume that's something perfect isn't it? The lack off those options gave me an unergonomic feeling about the messages system. I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing that. Have a nice day. -Milamber
