What's the best way to care for wood floors in the winter months?

As you entertain guests and people trek their rain and snow slicked boots across your wood floors,how will you maintain a clean,shiny finish.

Make a no shoes in the house policy. To help with this have a rug by the front door, and possibly some shelves to place the shoes. For mud that is tracked in, use a damp rag to wipe it up. I swiffer, or dry mop the floors once a week to get the dust up, and then use orange glo to polish it.
