At what age is the best time to start teaching your kids how to recite the English alphabet? many psychologists say two because their brain starts real function during that time. the old folks in my province say 4, coz you shouldn't bother the kids, for as kids, they have to enjoy their childhood first before they get to start learning. What is your idea, or, what have you learned about it?

It doesn't matter what age you start reaching a child any thing. They will not learn until they are mentally developed to learn. They don't all learn to crawl or walk at a set age so why are they expected to learn the alphabet or any thing else on a set schedule. My granddaughter was ready to start reading by the time she was four. We tried the same program on her brother when he reached. No way was he ready. No matter what we did he just had trouble remembering the alphabet. You can put the letters in from of a child at any time but he will not learn until he is ready

Children are learning all the time. If you are wanting to teach your child all you can do is keep the letters in front of him until he is ready and learns them. They learn when playing.

Pleasant good evening to you all. When my son was ten months old he was walking and talking the only letter he use to say at that age was N and A after playing the alphabet songs daily an he start to dance to it.At 12 months old my son started PRE-school here in Jamaica, reason for starting him so early is that he was a chatter box,and he was very big for his age too. so i think it's best to start them off when they start to talk. But the only thing i use to put in his little bag was diaper and wipes an pack his juice an snack in his lunch bag.at that time my aunt use to take him to school with her because she is a teacher. He did not cry one bit,he was neat in his uniform . My son is four years old now and he attending the same school an will turn 5 in April.Kids learn a lot of stuff fast it's best to start them off early.
