In many parts of Asia, people believe that certain fish can bring good luck to its owner, provided the owner takes very good care of it. The all time favorite is the Asian Arowana, except for the Green Arowana. Green is a bad color, meaning you lose until face turns green. At certain times, other fishes come into prominence, and can cost a few thousand dollars per fish. Some Feng shui masters say it is not the fish, but the presence of water. Water is wealth in Feng Shui. Some Feng Shui masters say the combination of good location, water and lucky fish increase the luck factor. Do you believe that a fish can bring good luck or fortune to the family?

I don't believe in lucky animals. Or fengshui. Personally, I dislike keeping fish, so I wouldn't keep them even if they really were lucky. Fish tanks need to be cleaned or else they turn all green and gross, and cleaning is a real pain. Especially since cleaning the tank always stirs up a lot of debris, including fish faeces, making the water look worse. Plus, fish are rather boring.

Haha Inedible, you really have no experience in keeping fish. My fish tank is very large, yet I do not spend a lot of time cleaning. In fact, the fish tank is very clean. No algae and no fish waste at the bottom. The filter is powerful enough to suck all out. For the sake of my fish, I change water twice a week with a water hose. Then add a bit of salt to the water. Takes just a few minutes twice a week. Those newbies to aquarium fish tend to have lots of nonsense in the tank, and do not know how to take care of it, that is why fish tank becomes a garbage dump. My fish tank does not have plants, substrate or whatever, just a powerful filter, and the light. My fish never even get sick.
