Now I understand why selectors pick Piyush Chawla in WC squad after 1 year break

Piyush Chawla was a doubtfull selection for all the Indians.
He got the place in the squad because he is a leg spinner and the world cup is going to happen in spinning indian pitches.
but he was straightly picked into the world cup squad after a big gap of more than one year.
now after watching the performance of Piyush Chawla in the warm up match against Australia its crystal clear that he is in good form.
I checked his recent ranji records also he performed very well in recent ranji matches also.
hope that he will continue the form and will bring more good wins for India.

Hi venkit
Piyush chawla is one of the better spinners in my opinion for india.
We really need to handle him well and mould him into a spinner who gets the wickets consistently.

Hi venkit,
When everybody in mylot here were quetioning the selection of Piyush Chawla, I was the oly one perhaps justifying his selection on the basis that in a world cup a leg spinner is a must. There are so many countries which are vulnerable to leg spin not so much the Australia but W.I. and England are the two main teams which don't like leg spin so much. Chawla is also a handy batsman. He has certainly proved his worth in warm up match and silenced his critics all over India.
