how can you get your husband to help you clean up around the house?

lately my husband has been completely disregarding my efforts to keep our bedroom clean. i oftentimes work hard cleaning up our room while he is at work, but then when he comes home he destroys it again so i am back at square one. sometimes he will say "thank you, honey. the room looks great" or something like that but will still destroy it later. this is really starting to annoy me. what can i do about this?

lol. it's funny because he already claims that i am hiding his stuff, but i am actually just straightening it up. apparently his idea of "orginization" is knowing where everything is because it is piled up on the floor lol.

Oh, I know what you mean! My fiancee is exactly the same! The only thing I've really tried so far is to ask him nicely to be more careful. It works for a certain period of time, but usually not for that long, I am afraid. So I will be following this discussion to see if I can get some tips as well :)

lol...well maybe it is just a guy thing. it doesn't seem like any women really know how to stop guys from doing this

My husband did the same thing the other day.. He came in and messed up the room that I had spent ages decluttering... I went and got a bin bag and threw his stuff away.. He retrieved it and has promised to make more of an effort now.
Maybe that will work for you if you did that? His face was a picture too!!

lol...wow. the worst thing i've done is threaten not to make my husband dinner anymore lol. but that never works because all i can do is use the microwave (since we don't have a stove right now) and anybody can figure out how to use that lol. but i don't think i wanna try that. i'd like to stay married lol...
