While Lord Of War is one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE MOVIES. What some of you may or may not know is this movie is actually based on Victor Bout. Victor Bout like Yuri had connections in the old USSR. Victor married the Daughter of a Highly Ranked KGB Member and when the USSR Fell in the Early 1990s. The Then down on his luck financially struggling unemployed man turned to gun running as many of his friends did, but what made him different then literally everyone else was the fact he had connections in the KGB. For Years Victor Bout operated with immunity, He was literally a one man killing machine and the movie at times portrayed him perfectly. Except for one major fault during the war in Iran, Victor Bout did sell to Osama Bid Laden. If you had the money then he would LITERALLY Sell ANY type of weapon to you, and that is correct. By this time the United States began invading Iraq after 9/11. The CIA Contacted Victor Bout and made an agreement, "arrangement" with him. The arrangement went something like this allow us to your fleet of planes to carry arms, tanks plus many other military weapons and personal, Not to mention he would have to stop dealing with Osama Bin Laden, Which he agreed to all of these demands and even setup a deal with the CIA where they would use his fleet of aircraft's to bring in there weapons. Well, What the CIA didn't know at the time was Mr. Bout was playing both sides and basically selling info to the Taliban. When the CIA got word of this, Some how Bout got tipped off and fled. He was put on Interpol`s Top Fugitive list and International Law Enforcement did EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO TRY TO CATCH HIM! FINALLY, They caught a break in Thailand when the Taiwanese did a routine checking of a fleet of planes. It was later confirmed that it was indeed Victor Bo ut an he was "FINALLY" Arrested! Right now, Hes trying to fight extradition to the United States. Victor Bout Has a Young Teenage Daughter and a wife. I personally think he should be brought back to the United States because he is personally responsible for the death of MILLIONS of people, Some even Innocent, All for a quick buck... I swear what is the world coming to. One Day, He will have to answer to a Higher Power, Its not my right to judge anyone but I think he is probably one of the worst people alive.
