Are we destined? ---Or we are creating our own destiny? My mother told me that there is no such thing as a destiny. She told me that we are creating our own destiny because she believes that all of us have free will. If that is the case, then why some couple break up and did not get married? And why some people accidentally died and they did not even know when they will die? And why some people that are still poor even if they tried hard to be rich? And why baby born abnormal if we're creating our own destiny? Are we destined or we are creating our own destiny?

Both. We are creating our own destiny. But still we have a choice to do it differently. Like what you said how is that people born autistic? Because while their parents are being pregnant they tend to eat bad foods a and they don't even know that it will reflect and the result is that they born autistic.
Whether we like it or not I do believe that whatever it takes we attract it. But we still have choice to make it right. That's why it is called Opportunity. We are the driver of our own lives.
Good day!
God bless!

It's a little of both. The parameters are set by God. Within these parameters you create what you will. The stage is set. You are now on stage. What will you do??? It's all up to you from here. God sets parameters for very good reasons. They help us learn the lessons we need to learn in life. We can only learn if we are allowed free choice then learn from the consequences of our choices. This is not limited to one lifetime so lessons span many lifetimes. It's easy to make judgment calls, however if we could see the entire picture, we would probably agree in the end.

I beleive that we create our destinies because if you could go back in time and change one small thing in your life. Think of all the changes that would come out of it. Like if I had not been at the place i met my husband on the day I met him, I would not have my 3 wonderful boys. So, I think your destiny is what you make it.

For me, absolutely not, because God is in control over us, we are created for purpose and sometimes we dont understand why we are here for, but if you believed that God exist and give a full turn to His will, surely you understand the meaning of life, try to make conversation with Him by means of sincere prayer, I believed that if you want to find the truth about Him and His holiness, He will answer. read the holy bible if you want to see why we are here for. God bless you.

I will always be a firm believer that we have a hand in creating our own destiny. We may not do this alone, but i don't think it is destined before we start. @Liliac26 (557)

I don't believe in destiny as a predetermined sequence of events that have to happen to you and will happen no matter what. I believe in coincidence though. Clearly some things are beyond our control, and just happen because of a series of coincidences, accidents and other related events, sometimes fortunate sometimes unfortunate. Other people's decisions also affect us very much, and often we can't really influence them.
That being said, I do believe we have some power in shaping our own lives (and those of the people around us), we have many options and alternatives to choose from during our existence, and it's up to us to make the best of what we're given.
