Summer Season starts around March in the Philippines and its the time of the year when families, friends and co-workers go out and have some fun in the sun. So for this up and coming season, any recommendation on where to go? Usually one would say Boracay, Bohol or Palawan. Any other recommendations?

If only I have money to burn, I plan to take my entire family to Baguio where the temperature is cooler as compared to any place or swim in the blue waters of Boracay. It will be a dream come true for me to go to Boracay again with the love of my life. Sigh! I fell in love with the view there. Took my breath away!

Our first trip in Boracay was not so good. My husband availed of the seat sale fares of Cebu Pacific. We went their off season, sometime in July. The weather was windy and a bit rainy. The sands blown by the wind hurt our legs. I didn't even go for a swim. But a lot where para sailing and wind surfing. Just got there for a photo ops. Anyway we'll go back next year for our family trip. I guess we will having more fun there since it is summer. For this year, it is Davao for us.

Boracay is better to visit during its peak season but then you have to compete with throngs of crowd and higher rates in hotels.

when you come to cebu, it's not plantation bay alone. there are a lot more like the shangrila mactan and hilton which are located near the beaches. of course, they all sound nice when it comes to prices. but we can still find some hotels and resorts with lower rates.

I would recommend either Davao or Camiguin. Davao City is the home to many spectacular tourist spots for summer vacation if you want something for a change other than beaches, you can visit Eden nature park just few miles from Davao City it is a huge mountain resort with beautiful amenities. Island Garden City of Samal few minutes from Davao city is home to many romantic and magnificent beaches too. Camiguin on the other hand is located in North Mindanao, don't worry this island is very safe and away from insurgencies, it has many tourist spots too and its famous White Island is a breathtaking beach worthy to explore.

We should have been to Camiguin this January via Cagayan De Oro for our wedding anniversary. But we fore go the CDO_Camiguin trip for our Davao trip this March. I'm really looking forward scuba diving and snorkeling at Samal Island. We'll try to check Eden nature park. I usually do our travel itinerary, however for this trip, a friend based in Davao will be our tour guide. What are the other must see sights in Davao?

Why not try Ilocos and Pangasinan, they have beautiful beaches and hundred island hopping is worth the money and time. the place is awesome and the people are hospitable and nice. Come and visit our place there, our beaches are nice and so close to nature. Ilocandia also has beautiful resorts and antique houses that offers not only goods but memories of the past! The food is also good and unique!

I have been in these areas quite a couple of times. I was born in Pangasinan. While my travels in Ilocos are because of visits to my cousins whose husbands are based in Ilocos. I agree they have the best colonial architecture in Ilocos. I so miss the empanada and longganisa at Vigan.

As I'm not fond of going to beaches especially when it's summer, I'd suggest places like Batanes and Baguio. Oh but wait, there's actually on place that I want to be if I want to have fun under the heat of the sun and that is Amanpulo. But, it's a bit pricey, though. Can't afford it just yet. (:

To escape the heat you go to Baguio or tagaytay but nothing beats the beach. You don't really need to go to boracay, palawan or bohol and spend most of your savings. The Philippines is after all a tropical country where you can find a lot of nice beaches but not as expensive compared to the famous ones.

Banaue is about 12 hours landtrip from Manila. Travelling just to get there would be an experience.
