People in maney cases like to learn conversational language. It is not deep in this way but at least they like to learn the most imoprtant words and sentences that help them to comunicate with others.

I am interested in some languages. I had four years of French in high school and college, and am just now starting to pick it back up again here and there when the urge strikes. I am not a proficient as I used to be, but it is very easy for me to refresh myself because it all starts to come back to me more and more every time I look it up.
I am more focused on German right now as I have German ancestry. It is a pretty "rough" and "forceful" language. The hardest part for me is that a lot of the words are very long, sometimes the pronunciation can be difficult to achieve with all those hard "ch" sounds. When I am very focused, though, I am fine with learning and don't have any more difficulty than anyone else. Those are just the hardest elements for me in that particular language.

Some how, I am not good at languages.Even though I learnt French, when I was studying in college, I was not able to master it. The same thing happened when I was in Kerala, and wanted to learn Malayalam, and was not able to do it, and finally even though I wanted to understand Hindi, I am not able to pick up that language.

I am very fluent in both English and Spanish. Outside of some interest in learning phrases and or simple words, I have not really been fully interested in learning a third language. Perhaps because I would not be using it too often as most of my acquaintance speak that two that I do.

I am interested in learning a new language because of its importance as far as global interaction and communication is concerned. I live in Nigeria where there are hardly any language school. If I have the opportunity of learning a new language I would rather prefer to learn: Portuguese, Spanish, French, Arabic, German, Chinese, and Swahili.
I think some of the problem people face in learning a new language is the style of teaching. Most language school lack basic study material and language teaching equipment. Most language school run language programme that are rather hasty for example they claim to have the skill to teach a student french for 3 months. I think this is not true. You can learn and understand french within a 6 months to 12 months minimum time. Student also who want to understand a language like french need to live and study the language in a french speaking environment so that the language will be use by the student in all the places that he or she goes to or anybody that he or she interact with. thank you

I myself would like to learn a new language since it would be beneficial to any individual. But many said that, when you are like 20 yrs of age and above it would be difficult learning a new langauge since your mind is congested already with many information and all that. A young child 4 or 5 years of age would be the easiest person to teach since they could easily grasp new knowlege.
Even though this is the case, it still doesn't discourage me to try something new.

I find the hardest part is memorizing the sentence pattern. Take Japanese for instance the way the words are said in sentences is completely opposite from how I speak English.
