Freedom: A Poem

Please let me know what you think, and share any of your own freedom related poetry that you might have. Sometimes I wish that I could open my wings Learn to fly I've heard people say The two most important things you give your children Are roots and wings I feel as though I've been held down With thousands of locks and chains Trying to get my own life Trying to make a stand I feel the chains bite into my flesh Yet I pulled on Struggling painfully to make it I realize with utter dread That I forgot the locks Then you came along with a key Your special love has set me free My wings are ripped and torn But you enfold me within yours We move out and begin to soar Feeling now a freedom Never felt before Now it is our turn to make things right So we give our children love We give our children flight

That's a very beautiful poem. It covers not only finding a true love, but also the love and adoration that parents have for their children.

Cruelty has a human heart, And Jealousy a human face; Terror the human form divine, And Secresy the human dress. The human dress is forged iron, The human form a fiery forge, The human face a furnace sealed, The human heart its hungry gorge.
