when i was in high school i only get like one or two zits in my face and it goes away after a couple days since it only comes out when i'm going to have my period. but now, i get worst than ever and a lot!! i normally have acne on my chin and cheeks and it really annoys me since although my family and friends tells me i have a beautiful face, having acne all over destroys it and my self-esteem crumbles.. i'm scared to have a facial again since it really hurts and although i work hard to be as clean as possible, the stress i get from work and the pollution in the metro makes it worst. whenever i visit the province and stay there for a couple of days, my acne clears up even if i only use a simple mild soap and nothing else. my dermatologist told me that my acne is caused by my stress and pollution and being in the province with fresh air, fruits and veggies to eat and a lot of rest helps clear my skin. my partner and I already is on the hunt for our new house in the south near from the metro but far enough from the stress and pollution... how about you guys? what causes your acne? is it just stress and pollution or something else? what are the methods to get rid of them as per your derma?

Hi. freymind. Don't feel bad, you are not the only person that has or is suffering from acne. I have had it many of times in my life. I won't squeeze or touch the pimple. I will let it go away on its own. It will leave a light brown spot on my face. Once it is healed up, I use a fading cream and in time that spot begins to lighten up. My skin gets oily around my T-zone area. I wash my face every morning with pure water. I make sure that it is mildly hot. I love the way that the steam feels on my face. It is very soothing. I live in the South. It gets hot down here during the summer time. Right now the weather is very cold. When my menstrual cycle comes on, I always seem to get at least one or two pimples. It will then clear up as my cycle comes close to an end. I only use cream on my face and neck about three times a week. I only wash my face in pure water. In the past, I have used cleansers like Oil Of Olay, and Queene Helene's facial scrub. I think that you should try Proactiv. My sister developed acne a while back here and she used this. Now, her skin is as clear as before. There are no pimples on her face. She also hardly breaks out anymore either. I hope that you can find a cure for your acne. Take care.

Acnes are caused by stress as well as the environment we are in. Though we can't really prevent acne from popping up, at least we can try to minimise the number that pops out. Try washing your face a few times a day with cleanser, to wash up the dirt and oil on the face. Have enough of rest and drink lots of plain water too. If u want to have a scar free face, do not squeeze those pimples. Let them heal on its own, and if they break, use toner to close up the pores being opened by acnes.

Throughout my life I would consider myself to be lucky because of the fact that I've not had to deal with having a lot of acne. When I was a teenager I had acne along my T-zone, but once I started just washing my face with water it started to clear up. Now that I'm out of those teenage years, I find that the only outbreaks of acne that I get are directly related to my menstral cycle and I know that it will clear up within a few days.

Acne is said to be part of growing. But, mostly the reason for having acne is what you have stated. Stress and pollution. But you could never discount one of the most important reasons - Bad nutrition. Nutrition is always key on how to good skin and good health.
