Yes! I want to learn how to drive the right way! I know how to do it in an automatic car but I want to learn how to do it in a manual car since I don't want to rely on having an automatic to drive as most cars here in our country runs with manual setting still. I'm still deciding whether to enroll on the top driving school here in our country or just any driving school since it will cost a lot and time for me. But I do want to learn how to drive the right way now!!! Any suggestions on how I learn driving? The traffic signs and other rules I'm already familiar with, I just know that I have one downfall in case... I'm afraid of parking...

I guess since you know how to drive vehicles with automatic transmissions, then the only thing left to learn is using the clutch pedal of a stick shift car. (Well, plus the stick shift of course :) And I don't think you need to enroll in a driving school for that. If you have a friend who drives a stick shift car, why not ask him to teach you. It would save you the expenses of a driving school.

Yes, i know how to drive, both auto and manual cars. When i got my license, there was only manuel testing. It's only about a few years ago where license for auto driving came out too. It's actualyl quite stupid to get a auto drive license because it means they can't drive manual cars. If one has manuel license, we will be abl to drive both kind of cars. Won't that be better?

I drive an automatic car although I was taught in a manual. The majority of vehicles here are automatic these days so I have no real need to practice with a gear stick! I think it is a really good idea for you to get your manual licence if most of the cars there have gears. I would not think about it too long and just do it; you’ll be so glad you did! I would ask a friend with a licence to teach me instead of paying for lessons seeing that you are already familiar with driving. Good luck with it!

I originally learned to drive on a car that had an automatic transmission. In fact, that was all that I was able to drive for the first six years that I had my driver's license. It was only after I met my husband that I learned to drive on a standard transmission car. I don't think that I would have ever been able to do it if it wasn't for my husband's patience. My advice would be to find someone that you know that would have the patience to teach you to drive. Don't worry too much about the parking, it comes solely with experience.

I think the only way to learn is to really do it. As in my case, I'm not really sure if enrolling in a driving school would really help. All I (or you) really needed then was an open space and to go driving. It was all mental. My mind just needed to process the actions when I shifted gears, or stepped on the clutch. In any case, goodluck!

hi freymind, first you should be confident in yourself to drive by urself and to be able to do some necessary maintenence of the car as it is important if you are driving for long distance and would suggest you to take driving classes as it would not only provide you with legal licence but also the ability to drive with confident and also some traffis rules which you might not be knowing so my advise is you should go for driving school.

I don't think it is necessary for you to attend the driving school again seeing you knew how to drive in an automatic transmission already. Maybe you just need somebody that you know to give you some lessons. I don't know how to drive hift so I don't know.

I agree with the previous responses. There is no need to spend money on driving school. As you already have basic knowledge, it is very simple. All you need is practice. The main key to driving well is practice. Practise on your friends' cars, or your relatives' cars. The more you drive, the more confidence you will have, and the better driver you will be. As for parking....well, I used to be afraid too. I mean parking the car occupying two car park space, or parking really badly, etc. Again, with everything, it is not something you can learn from watching someone else or someone telling you how to do it. Of course, those things help, but the main thing is doing it yourself. Practice backing into space on a wide area. The more you do it, the better you will be. Good Luck.

I think that you should keep this promise. Driving the car manually is way more fun than the other way around. Through manual shifting, you will fell more control over your car. It would make you appreciate more driving. Since, you already know the basics of driving minus the clutch of course, I think that you do not need professional help. It will be a waste of money. Find someone you know that may teach you. It is pretty simple you know. Timing is they key. Whenever you step on the clutch, it is like the car is in neutral. That is the main principle of it. I never went to a driving school and I was able to figure it out. I know you also can. Do not be afraid. Give it a go.
