I watched this over TV yesterday when I turned on the TV they were the ones that were about to fight. Since it is a Filipino vs. Mexican fight, I decided to watch the fight. I agree the first round was not that interesting that I even did not watch that eagerly. Same when round 2 started, but I was surprised when I heard crows shouting and I saw Montiel down already. From that point on my eyes were glued to my TV and was curios how Donaire had done this feat in just two rounds. That was really shocking that Montiel gave up his belt that easy.

Yep, I saw it, another Filipino made us proud again. I saw the whole fight.. well the whole 2 rounds that is. It was a spectacular hook! Montiel got hit at the side of his face and went down hard. He tried to get up but his body won't let him. When he finally got to his knee he stumbled down again. It was indeed spectacular!

If I were Montiel, I would not waste my energy throwing punches at Donaire thinking they were effective or that the punches will have any effect. Should he considered the strength of his enemy first, Montiel would have stayed over the ring for many rounds more. There are times that the impossible does happen and Donaire's killer left hook testified.

Donaire always had that wicked left hook which also knocked out Vic Darchinyan. But what he did to Montiel was amazing. I saw the slowmotion replay which looked like Montiel's face separated from his skull. Donaire has to be promoted properly to get to a level where Pacquiao is.

I pity Montiel for this one but happy for Donaire's success. He already third in rank amongst the best boxing fighters around.
