Anytime you post anything, it automatically triggers a herd of about a half dozen trained wildebeests to spin a large pressed particle board wheel which has various denominations ranging from .00000004 cent to .02 cent painted upon it's face. Once the wheel has made one complete revolution, a titanium bell rings which signals the release of hundreds of Siberian starlings. Whatever denomination the first starling poop lands on will determine the amount myLot will pay you for that particular post..........minus the 20% deduction for wildebeest and starling food, care, and maintenance. (DING!)

I rather like this, even though I believe that it "inaccurately explains the myLot earnings algorithm." The myLot mathematicians have worked long and hard on the elaborate payment system and wouldn’t want any of the hard-working users to make them feel inadequate by breaking their algorithm in minutes. Can you be sure, for example, about the fibre board and the titanium bell? Wildebeest are somewhat scarce in Kansas, too. I suspect that gophers and skunks are a more likely source of power. Do you think that the recent deaths of thousands of birds in that approximate area has had any effect on our earnings? Personally, I have a sneaking suspicion that the total number of road kills seen on their way to work by MyLot employees actually governs the 'pot for the day' to be distributed amongst the discussions and posts.

It cannot be clearer than this: "How do I calculate my earnings? * Earnings are calculated based on a proprietary model that rewards quality responses, relevant discussions and images, and normal website activities." http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#15 and this: "DON'T ... Post anything that inaccurately explains the myLot earnings algorithm. Our myLot mathematicians have worked long and hard on our elaborate payment system and we wouldn’t want any of our users to make them feel inadequate by breaking their algorithm in minutes." http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx
