disc space running short?

India

My computer often shows me a message that I am running out of disc space. What does it mean? Does it mean that that my hard disc is almost totally occupied by different programmes stored on it and has almost no space left to store any thing more? Is there any chance of my computer being crashed if I try to store any more on the hard disc or anything detrimental may happen to my computer?

hii didi You will have to restructure your computer memory first of all remove all media files from system drive. It will make out some space then use any trusted file cleaner, one is advanced windows care which m using now, it will remove junk files. Then keep 25% of your system drive always free. Store your media files in other drives or if necessary install another hard-disk internal or external parallel to existing one.

You are right my friend, your hard disc is getting full, your computer will become slow. Why wait for it to crash when you can do certain things to prevent it? When you receive such a message. the first thing to do is delete you temporary internet files in order to free some space, you can find that under accessories then systems tools. If you have a CC cleaner you can use that too. You may also want to go to add/delete programs to see which programs you installed take up so much memory and is not being used often, then you may want to uninstall them. I could see that you are using an older system so you may also defragment cluttered files using disc defragmenter also on systems tools=accessories in order to compress files and create more room. Good luck my friend

Hey doctor did, I don't think your computer will crash doesn't have a virus or anything so you are fine just your computer will work very slow and probably continue to do so. Just think of it as a camera tells you the memory is low or there is none at all. But works fine just slows down a little and just need more memory. If you try to keep adding more programs and music and videos and stuff on your hard disk drive then it won't let it it will keep on tell you your out of memory I would say delete programs you don't use and haven't use in the pass 6 months or something . But be careful don't delete something important. How much memory is on your HDD?

If its prompting that your low in disk space it must be that hard drives are almost full. I would recommend to buy a extra hard drive or put them in any other data storing devices like cds, dvds or even thumb drives. and your last optio is basically delete files that you dont need. I would recommend do the following instructions above immediately to prevent data overload and crash.

I hope you got answer for your question but still just wanted to explain you clearly if your still not clear The only solution for your problem is just delete the UN-used files or use some software they will automatically set your disk space if they files are misplaced If you still feel the error is comming try change your hard disk according to your needs

That could be the case. Maybe you should check on your hard disk. When the content is close to the capacity, then you may confirm that you really are running low on space. I suggest that you just back up your files. Some may say that nothing will happen to it but in my case, when I tried to really fill up my hard disk until its limits, suddenly everything went missing. I felt so frustrated since I have a lot of important documents stored there. I guess that you just need to be cautious with this matter. Look for the most important documents you have and store them in your flash disk if you have or other types of storage devices. After this, seek professional help so that things would go well.

Yes, it means that your hard disc has not enough space to store other files or the files that you want to keep. You have to clean your space by deleting files that you don't use anymore. You can check the programs installed in your computer and uninstall those which you don't use. Just open the control panel in the startup menu and you can see the list of program installed in your computer. I suggest that you also do disc clean-up to remove unnecessary files and disc deframenter. I don't think that running out of disc space can cause your computer to crash. Other problems such as virus or other system issues are the ones that cause the machine to black out.
