Torture by police in the custody is such a terrible thing that when a person is under torture, he will confess to almost any crime. Even ‘Joan of Arc’ confessed to be a witch under torture. Do you agree?

Hi DoctorDidi, I agree, all torture is bad but even in the best of countries, some police use very underhanded tactics. In some countries of course there is plain torture and the real culprit is rarely caught. An honest and upright police force is a must for any country. Blessings.

I have never seen police put someone to the torture for myself.I only saw it on Tv or in the movies. It is surely bloodcurdling for common one to hear it so I make sure that not everyone rather die than admit.

A person's mind is a strange thing, when under pain or deprived of sleep, food or drink the mind will take a person to many places and if some one is constantly telling you something you may very well find that it is truth under these conditions. This is why confessions given under most conditions cannot be trusted as truth.

Torture by police is very common here and people are too well aware of their rights and they are suing them. The government is wasting a lot of money on legal costs and damages.

I completely agree with you. I know that policemen have to be strong people and also they should try to control the population and keep the cities clean of crime, but I don't think they should torture common people just to get some information or something like that. That's against the laws I think... and obviously against a man rights... that rights we all should respect.

You know what. those police is corrupted, and they should deserve a public trial in front of public. Their brutality should be judged and punished accordingly too. Many innocent people are under persecution of those police officials all over the world. They should be punished and penalized like everyone else.
