Food Waste Recycled as Slop Oil

Slop Oil - Slop oil came from food thrown away by restaurants. Its also called Drainage Oil since this oil comes from the drainage of the restaurants. The oil is cooked in a slop then strained and sold as a cheap oil that is being used by street vendors

Never heard of it until I read this article about people in a part in China use Slop Oil or Drainage Oil that was refined from slop or swill that came from the leftover food people throw from restaurants. Just by looking at the picture you can see how disgusting it is and how awful people could use this to cook in the streets and then make other people eat it. I know that poverty is all around us even lack of education can push people to do alternatives to make money but this!!! That is so darn disturbing!!! Even their government can't stop this from happening. I hope that God will show these people how bad this Slop Oil is and could kill a human being! That might be one of the most disgusting things that I've ever seen or heard about in my life. I think that the people that are doing this will realize how dangerous their actions are to the lives and quality of life of other people. If it wasn't ingested in the first place, there is no reason that it should be ingested now. If people don't want to waste it, but it to use heating or powering vehicles, but it isn't fit for human consumption.

The government officers probably get money from those street vendors, so that they can look the other way. They will not get sick since they are not the ones eating the food. As long as they have money in the pocket, they do not care about the others.

Ok when I read the title I was like wow thats so awesome they are using this oil to heat their homes. I was thinking if they did that here I would have to of paid $400 for 114 gallons of fuel oil to heat my house for the next few weeks. But then I read the discussion and I see they are using this disgusting oil they are making to reuse as cooking oil. Oh my gosh that is so sick. If I lived in China and went to a resturant I would demand to know what kind of oil they use for cooking. They could still lie though. That is just really wrong.

This is disgusting. I work in a restaurant, and I have seen the crap that comes out of some of our oil when we clean our fryers. Remind me NOT to go to China and order food from street vendors. That picture just looks disgusting. There comes a point in the life of cooking oil that it is not fit to use for cooking anymore, and I think that oil is well past that point.
