A mountain climber becomes trapped under a boulder while canyoneering alone near Moab, Utah and resorts to desperate measures to survive. This is another hit from the same director of "Slumdog Millionaire", Danny Boyle. His style of directing has a distinct touch of realization of life. I love his style of seriousness of topic with a touch of sense of humor. If you watch his movies, you'll gonna cry and laugh at the same time. A breathe of fresh air. The major role was played by one of my new favorite actor since Spiderman, James Franco. He played the role of Aron Ralston, a mountaineer,a hard-headed and very proud person before the accident happened. He lived alone until he realizes his family's worth while trapped in the boulder alone. A lot of realization of life. A very nice movie to watch!

I was able to watch this movie last week. For some, its delivery maybe boring, because of the solitary character that James Franco plays. It's really just him mostly in the screen. But the movie was superbly done and written. I read a review from the real life hero that the movie depicts everything that happened to him except for the part where he met the girls. He said they made it a bit different because in real life, he met them, gave them directions, and taught them a little about climbing. He didnt swim with them in the underground river. But it was a nice touch. It's a positive side. Other than that, the movie was exact. I love how it inspired me. How one man, with obviously no one there with him, played against life and never gave up. I told myself, if that ever happened to me, I dont know if I will have the same willpower like him. His desire to live is so inspiring. Some would just give up. But he didnt give up. He never lost hope. Proves much that theres a lot to live for in this life. Definitely a must see movie. Such an inspiring and beautiful story!

Exactly my point, even if it's not that star-studded movie, you will not get bored because of how the scenes were created. And by the way, I forgot to mention the cinematography, it's great! Let's wait for the Oscar's this February 27. And James will be hosting it with Anne Hathaway!

Hi,pocoyojk! I don't know much about Danny Boyle. But he is certainly a well-known and respectable director and I love Slumdog Millionaire. And James Franco also did a great job in Spiderman. I just checked the movie up in Wikipedia, and seems it already has been nominated for many awards. Thanks for your recommendation, certainly gonna watch it. Have a nice day!

The fact that the story is real, has a big impact on the viewer that this movie is the advantage over other similar productions that topic.Strong feelings that you forward Danny Boyle with a camera make you live and suffer with the character. Obligatory to be seen!

I was able to give this a watch and I say that it is amazing. I think that the character is weird in some ways because he does his adventures alone. I think that it is not so smart of him. He should anticipate the possibility of something to go wrong so that is why in this kind of hobby or sport, he should have some king of back up plans. And it is funny because the only time that we appreciate the people we have is when we almost lose them. It is scary to have been in this situation because it seems like there is no chance to get out but given his will to be back, he was given the second chance with some sacrifices.
