Have you ever participated on any work related strike movement?

I still remember while I was in Canada, there were alwyas strikes happened in different government department and within different unions as well.I think some people can be quite reasonable to go for their strikes , but sometimes others are nit really justifly for their action.I had a friend who worked for the post office before. She told me that they have to do to work by helicopter and land of the top floor of the post headquarter to work everyday. Why? it was because thsoe who were participating in the post strikes wouldn't allow anybody to go to work from the main entry. They would hit or use something to harm anybody who would try to go to work from the main entry and all the other exits.I don't accept strikes like that for it wasn't peaceful and it would easily harm the innocent people. How about yyour expreiences? I've never been involved in a work related strike mostly because of the fact that I've never worked for a union. That said, I've seen times in my life that there have been strikes in our area and most of them are peaceful strikes. I know that they do significantly cut down the productivity of the company, but it is good that none of the strikes that I've ever seen in my life have ever turned to violence.

My first year teaching the whole parish went on strike. I didn't feel right about it as I felt like I had signed a contract and was bound to that. If I didn't like the pay I didn't have to sign! So I worked anyway - actually almost all my collegues did too!
