which row do you usually sit in class? When i was in high school and elementary I usually site in the last row, or the second to the last row , since I am taller and I also don't want t be called by the teacher. But now that I am in college, i started sitting in the front row and found that it's nice in front since you can stay focused on the teacher and can even understand the lesson well. Which row do you like?

Back in high school and elementary, I sit based on the alphabetical arrangement of the surnames. That makes me in the middle row since my last name starts with an N. When I reached college, for those professors that strictly follows the seating arrangement based on surnames, I seat at the far back because the class usually consist of a 100 students. Upon entering junior and senior years, I get to choose where I could sit and that is at the front row corner. In this area I feel like I don't catch much attention. My teachers would usually concentrate on looking at the people seating at the back and those in middle front.

YEs, we used to have that sitting arrangement in some subjects too- back in the days, which I don't really love since it puts me in the first rows. I noticed my college teachers also look at the back row people more.. Thanks for your response.

I'm quite tall too so I used to sit in the middle row. This was because the teachers usually picked people at the back and I didn't want to be asked a question. If you sat at the front everyone would call you a teachers pet. To avoide these thing I usually chose my seat in the middle of the middle row :). Now I look back on it, I wish I could have been brave and sat at the front because I could have listened more.

Thanks for your response. Yes, the middle row is the 'safe part' . Now, I am a bit brave enough to sit in the front row- to listen to the teacher well... It's also good since I am not that tall in my class anymore.

hi lady, i never had a chance to seat at the back. honest! i know i have missed a lot of fun because of it. yet i also gained so much while in the front row. i was the smallest in the class during my study days. and my family name starts with letter b and when arranged alphabetically, i always end up in the front row. if i could go back in time? i would like to experience being at the back row. have a nice day. ann

Yes, sitting in the front row does have many advantages. Except when you do not like the subject or find it dull or boring. It's not nice to site in front for a whole two hours, or even more.

When I was in grade school and high school, I usually sit at the back because our teacher was the one who arranges our seat plan. In a way, I loved sitting at the back because I get to do things that I didn't want my teacher to see like playing games in my mobile phone, sending text messages to my friends and whatnot. I guess I didn't have problems sitting at the back of the class when it comes to understanding the lessons. I used to be a good student who studies at home so there's no dilemma there. When I got to college, things turned a new leaf - A MORE DIFFICULT ONE. The lessons went to a whole new level that is far beyond my brain's comprehension and memory range. So all my college life, I spent time in the front row and it really helped because aside from helping me to not do anything else (I was scared because my professor might see me), I was also able to sustain my attention span. Anyway, front row or back, I think it still depends on the student's attitude towards studying. :)

I am really the same as you- also in the same situation. I like the back row since i can do anything I want to do without the teacher noticing. I can eat, play and sleep... But when college came, the lessons are much harder, so we have to focus on the teacher and sit in the front row. Thanks for your response.

Thank you for your response. That is one of the reasons why I am always at the back when I was in high school and grade school- I didn't really want everyone to see how I sat and be conscious about it. I love being in the back row at that time.

Oh I also often fall asleep in class that is why I'm always at the back row. But as latrodectus said that it depends on the student's attitude towards learning. And I can say that I did better that time than those who sit in the front. I just feel more comfortable sitting in the back not getting conscious of my poise or posture than those who are in the front getting stiff because the teacher can see them openly.

I never really wanted the teacher to give me their full attention- it's quite scary for me. I don't even participate much in class although I know the answers- which is bad or a student. I really lacked confidence before- but now is the time to come out. Thanks for your response.
