The Howling of the Beast

It's almost a week now and Purr has been howling incessantly outdoors. I know it's a mating call, but what I can't stand is that his cat friends which seem to have sprung from nowhere are also outside and howling. Purr only stops howling when I go out to feed him or when I stay in the garden. But the other cats keep on howling and even hiss at him to go out. Purr has been chased by neighborhood dogs already because of this racket and I don't know how long will he keep on doing this. Any suggestions on how to tame the beast? Thank you in advance.

get him neutered so he stopes breeding and wanting to breed this will clam him down as well as make him helthier not to mention the world does not need more cats by any means there are hundreds put to sleep in shelters everyday because ther are not enough homes. second I would suggest bringing him inside as the life expectancy of a cat that go's outside is half that of a cat that stays inside. plus ur increasing ur risk of injury to him and vet bills from cars accidents run ins with other aniamls heat stroke, frost bite, etc

Neuter your male and your problems will end. He will live longer, be friendlier and not add to the over population of cats.

Hello Anne25, We used to have A LOT of hissing last year but ever since I kept putting the Dog at the back yard, that's when they decide not to go here that much. and besides, my cats are now at the back yard. not only that ponchi got himself a new cat to mate with but i think she's only months old, ponchi is sure big.. i couldn't do anything in your situation knowing your cats are always free.
