My cousins are coming in april and we were planning to travel a lot while their stay in India.First i thought we should go to goa as i have never been to beaches but a friend told me that If you will go there in april, your skin will burn and you will die of thirsts as in march april time the sea evaporates. So now i am totally confused where to go this year?We already been to manali, nainital, jaipur, chandigarh, agra(which was a bad experience),kasauli so no point in going there again. So any suggestion where i should go? Please Suggest someplace in India only

I would suggest Goa, Kerala, and Darjeeling. I have been to Goa many times and I loved it. I don't see any reason why Goa should not be good in April. I think it would probably be better than winter season (also known as Tourist Season). If you go in the season, the hotels are all booked full, hotel prices go up, everything costs more. I don't like going to Goa during season. I always pick either just before start of season or just after. The hotel prices differ greatly. And the weather is not that bad either in April or September. If you go to Goa, do a proper research on hotels. In April, you should be able to get a good deal on beach hotels, which are right next to the beach; which can be very costly during season. As for burning up, take a wide hat along with you along with sunscreen and sunglasses. You would be fine.

Are you serious ? I live just 180kms from Goa and its hardly 4hrs bike journey from my place. We visit Goa every Saturday/Sunday for fun as well as business. I think you may like hot and humid weather but not all do . I own a shack at Calangute Beach and i know how many Indian tourist come to Goa in April to September season . However, yes, wearing a wide hat with sunglasses and some sunscreen on body might help one . And infact yes Goa during April to Septemeber season is damn cheap ... coz there's absolutely no body on the beach !

@lionheartguru, I personally don't like hot and humid weather. In April or September, Goa is not that bad. Even in the height of Summer, barring hill stations, no cities in India is better than Goa. Everywhere it is the same, hot and humid. There are some places with dry heat, like Jaipur, for example. It is very hot, but no humidity, which I personally. Of course what I'd really like is a warm summer, not extreme heat.

I suggest Kerala which is less touristy than Goa. I remember going to a place in the wet season and the weather was really hot and humid. By comparison I went to another place in the summer holidays and the weather was hot like the desert and ever so dry. I advise you and your cousins where suncream and use insect repellent. I hope that you will find the ideal place to visit this April.

That is a tough topic for a foreigner like me, I have no idea where to go in India, because I am not from there. Sorry, I also comment your discussion, I knew that I shouldn't. Good luck on your April trip though.

Hi friend, Goa can be an option but as its rightly said, it will be burning hot and you wouldn't enjoy as much as you expected. If you prefer beaches then Lakshadweep is a very good place to explore. You will fall in love with the Islands, nature and the water activities is something one will never miss. Towards south Ooty, Kodaikanal, Arcot in Tamilnadu are fantastic spots to spend your summer and few hill stations in Karnataka like Coorg, madikere etc is also very good places. Kerala is another place where people don't miss, even though its humid and sultry you can still enjoy the boat house journey and natural beauty of the God's owned state. Towards north Shimla, Darjeeling are wonderful places to visit (even though I have not visited but my friends have mentioned that they are good places to visit) India tourism will also give you a lot of options on the package tour and the places you can explore. Hope this information was useful.
