what do you think about massage chairs?

i have been asked to try these massage chairs in malls and these are quite expensive.i would much rather go to the spa - but to each their own right.what do you think of these massage chairs? would you purchase one?

I have found then uncomfortable and I feel they hurt a bit but I have a friend that just loves them, everytime we see one he just has to have a go....
