Fighting/sledging has always been a part of cricket or any game for that matter. But for a country where cricket is a religion it matters a lot. What are best cricket sledges/fights you have seen (any country) and do u find them entertaining or serious?. I like Sachin's reply to few players, he doesn't get on to an argument but his bat speaks by sending the ball to boundaries and out of the boundary line :-)

Most popular cricket sledge for me is surely between Sehwag and Shohaib Akhtar, in a match Shohaib was bowling good line and length and Sehwag was defending some balls which were just falling infornt of Sehwag, Akhtar after every ball said, Ball utha ke de(pick up and give the ball back), Suddenly Sehwag hit Akhtar for a massive six and replied ja ab ball leke aa(go and get the ball now).Competitive cricket at its best .

There was a similar incident way back in the days of Vivian Richards. I forgot the bowler involved, but as per the legends he went to Richards and said "The ball is new, it is red and it is hard." The next ball Richards smote the ball out of the stadium and replied back "You know how the ball looks and feels like, can you go and get it now." Cheers! Ram

Yes losing manners, manhandling and racist comments should not be the part of the game at all.Aggressive attitude because of competitive cricket is understandlable but there should be no hatred and these things should end on the field, as sports are played to increase friendship and peace not for starting a war.

Hi vasugi, When there are teams like India and Pakistan or England and Australia, there would surely be sledging and foul speech. I do not pay much interest to that. If I ever wont forget is the monkey jump of Javed Miandad when the wicket keeper was passing some remark from behind the stumps. The wicket keeper for India was Nayan Mongia I guess.

Hi, Thanks for the comment, yes I agree that was one of the best and funniest sledges. The wicket keeper was Kiran More :-)

Yeah that was the best ever and mine favorite too. Javed Maindad was such a great player who was able to change match situation without hitting hard but taking singles and two's. One more thing which we Pakistani and Indians can never forget about him was the sixer in sharja.

i remember the funny incident in which Inzy was involved. he is a very cool customer, but that time he was so agitated that he went after the person with the bat and tried to hit him. i am sure something really bad must have been said to him, other wise he would not have done that, but still i think as a player you need to deal with these things, or else you can completely avoid and just walk away from such incidence.

For me the most funniest cricket sledging moment was when Miandad jumped up and down like a monkey to mimic the Indian appealing in a world cup match. That showed the tension of the India-Pakistan matches. The most popular one is the one between Bhajji and Symonds. It ballooned to become the focal point of the India-Aussie rivalry and the fortunes have completely changed for both teams since then. India is number 1 test team now while Aussies are no. 4!! I also found the sledge, rather than sledging I would say the teasing reaction from Afridi to Jacques Kallis in the T-20 world Cup. That's is on of the funniest one I will never forget :-)

Another interesting sledging that I remember was that Darryl Cullinan of South Africa was Shane Warne's bunny and used to get out very regularly to him. In one series, Shane was not playing due to injury and Cullinan was in good form and scoring some runs. Waugh brought Bevan to bowl one over to him, and immediately after the first ball, Ian Healy behind the stumps should "Bowled Warnie" and Cullinan was visibly shaken. And believe it or not, he got out shortly after that!! Cheers! Ram

That's exactly right. There is no point in exchanging of words or making faces, the best reply is when you show the quality of your work. Boss you mess around with me then you will have it. Actually Pakistan was doing great in that match and most of us expected them to win, if Aamer would have stayed back for some more time.. but things changed after he went...

Best one I've heard, but can't remember who it was between, it goes like this; Player 1, How'd you get so fat. Player 2, Because every time I sleep with your wife she gives me a biscuit. That's probably not word for word but you can catch the drift,
