Oil at Two-Year High as Libya Edges Civil War

According to the Mesh Report, oil prices rose to a two-year high, around $96 a barrel amid concerns that a violent power struggle in Libya could disrupt supplies!
American continues to be "addicted" to oil while big oil continues to fund their big lobbyist to make sure this nation never progresses to other forms of energy.
When will Americans recognize our urgent need to become less addicted to foreign oil ... never?? Surely, ALL Americans are feeling this at the pumps!

Imagine how much lower the price of oil would be if American companies could drill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Imagine what would happen if Obama was (rightfully) arrested for his contempt of court, while continuing his unconstitutional oil embargo against the US.

Non sequitor, Gladys. The BP oil spill didnt' happen because there was drilling, it happened because the government failed to enforce the law. That also doesn't make sense, since every other country in the world who wants to drill in the gulf is drilling there.
The regulations were in place, the regulators had been to the oil platform in question, the regulators gave it the official okey dokey. So how would more regulations had helped?
The president is violating the US Constitution, artificially propping up oil prices, and robbing thousands of workers of their jobs.
In other words, if he wasn't a Democrat, you would be screaming as loud as me!

My point exactly. Americans only care if "America" is drilling. Everyone else can do what they want, and then they turn around and scream "break the dependence!"
We have to be the great example in the world. Why? Well, I think it's because we have a nation full up with sissies who need to feel good about themselves, the consequences of wrong action and inaction don't register as much as going to bed knowing that you're against oil spills and running a pipeline through the wilderness. Like everyone else is all about destroying the planet. Bad, bad people!

Okay. "Americans" need to be "less addicted" to foreign oil.
I've heard it told that, if we actually tapped OUR OWN resources instead of panicking about spills and Santa's sled-pullers, we wouldn't need foreign oil at all.
So that's the first part of it that makes me absolutely sick. The spin is utterly astounding.
To set some faux example of global awareness, we'll regulate ourselves completely out of the market and thus force everyone in the country to pay insanely high markups while we don't really give a sh%t what they do on "their" side of the globe.
That's a bunch of crap! That's like being against torture but all for rendition.
This backward logic is costing us big time! Why can't we have honesty on any issue?
And as far as "other forms of energy," we're all still waiting! Should we be forced into $10/gallon gasoline and subsequently refuse to buy it simply beacuse we can't afford it in order to stop using it? Again, that's crazy logic.
If someone came to the table with viable alternatives not costing people far more than they could afford, the vast majority of Americans would be more than happy to switch up, all the "big lobbyist" stuff be damned.
Ah, this is a general rant. I used to go to the gas station with a twenty and be gravy. These days I'm paying closer to $50 per fill. I'm sick of all the spin and every other bit of nonsense that goes with it.
People get so up in arms about not tapping America's resources, and then they get up in arms about needing to break foreign dependence, and then they get up in arms about "alternative" measures.
If only wishful thinking and finger pointing filled my tank up! And with oil costs on the rise, food costs are going to shoot up again, too. I'm paying close to $200/week for groceries for ONE PERSON, up almost 80% in the past two years.
I'll have to switch back to unhealthy junk food to save money, or stop eating altogether. Healthcare, here we come!
F%$K! For supposedly the "best country in the world," America sure is an azz-backwards, retarded place sometimes.
It's the lobbyists?

I read each and every one of your words up there Matersfish ... I just need to quickly say lol ... and then tell you I'm feeling the same pains!
So your bottom line is to continue spinning around in one place as American continues to waste good time, good money to foreign unstable oil-soaked nations??
Not only is it the LOBBYISTS ... it's also the disinterested masses!
