hey guys! are you a big carmelo fan? if yes then you should get excited as carmelo now joins forces with amare stoudemire. and to add to the spice, chauncey billups also was traded by the nuggets to the knicks...now new york is back at the NBA map once again...do you think new york can be a contender in the NBA championship? or should chris paul add to the mix to create a sure killer combo?

I think that the Knicks are going to need one big main guy in the NBA to be considered to be in the championship this year. Maybe next year they would be considered if they hold onto the guys they have right now. They arent going to be a bad team even with the two main guys they have. I think that the celtics and the heat are still the ones to beat this year. Being a heat fan of course i would like them to beat out the celtics soon but not sure if we are capable of doing so. I think next yaer some teams are going to be harder to beat and that the NBA is going to be bigger sport and the teams are going to start pulling biiger named guys onto one team and leaving some teams short of never winning a game at all.

I'm not a Melo fan (but still I prefer him to LeBron), but I'm a big knicks fan and a Danilo Gallinari fan. So I'm not sure whether to be happy or not about this trade. On one side, it was really exciting to have Gallo and the knicks on the same side - I've also bought some orage & blue outfit with danilo name on it! On the other side, I'm happy to see that the Knicks can really compete in the payoff now, which has'nt been an option in the last years.

yeah. i totally agree.gallo is a big loss to the knicks but we have to weigh the benefits against the risks..gallo is a loss, together with felton.but acquiring the veteran leadership of billups and the wits of melo outweighs the loss.

i'm not a New York Knicks fan but the addition of Melo would definitely bring more excitement to the NBA especially to the Eastern Conference. i think they are a playoff team but not yet enough for a Finals appearance. Maybe adding CP3 and a competent Center would make the a Finals team.

center?who could that be?CP3 already made some informal remarks of joining amare together with melo during melo's wedding.they even discussed it dating back the 2010 all star at dallas...i also agree that this move of carmelo will give a big boost to the eastern conference...im a big fan of eastern division teams, especially miami and boston...back to who should be traded for a center position...do you have any idea?derrick favors?

new york has already been a contender even only with amare but how deep in the playoffs they go is the sure question...Miami, boston, and orlando now have an additional serious competition..
