I totally agree that Ronald Singson should now be expelled from Congress. Even when he was just initially incarcerated he should have the courtesy to vacate his post, because he cannot do his job anymore. Now, that he is to be incarcerated for a year and a half, he should have the decency to vacate his position. Being a drug user is an added reason for him to do so also.

Well, I just read on the news today that Singson has resigned from his post. I guess he still has some sense left in him.

Yes, he has come into his senses already. Finally, he has realized it's no use hanging into his post.

Finally! Finally! I hope people will not misread me but I think it is a real disgrace to see a public official doing crime. At least in a foreign government, he didn't get a slap on the wrist and a pair of welcoming arms after that. It is a shameful act and being a public official, he should have known better. I guess jail time is going to teach him a lot of lessons that may help him respect and uphold the law better.

Yes, finally he resigned. He should have done so, many months ago.

This is very frustrating. What kind of politicians the Philippines have?

Yes, it's frustrating. I just hope the politicians will make a law with regards to cases such as this one.

I totally agree! I wonder why Congress hasn't done that yet? He has dishonored not only Congress and his office, but the entire country. I think that's reason enough to expel him. And he should just resign himself. He can still find a job when he gets back. But he should face the consequences of his actions. He shouldn't drag the country in his disgrace any more than he already has.

Finally, he has formally resigned. He should have done that when he was incarcerated.

He should be! He shouldn't even wait to be expelled, he should do the honorable thing and resign from his post instead. Bottomline is he broke a major law. That's a serious breach of conduct for any government official. He broke public trust and should be made accountable for it. Lawmakers can never be law breakers at the same time. It just isn't right.

Yes I think it is just the right thing to do. I think that his constituents are still not receiving the right representation in Congress if Rep. Singson would insist to have this title retained. I think the district he is supposed to serve deserve to be represented in Congress. I just do not know how this will be done.

I think, it's his father who does his work while he is away. He is the one irritated of the idea of him resigning at the soonest.

Not just because he cannot report because he is going to be incarcerated but because he doesn't deserve his position at all! How can he be a public servant if he cannot act as a role model to his constituents. Being a public official requires more than attending congress meetings and all of those political stuffs. These should serve as a reminder for all of our public officials and citizens alike.

Correct. That will now serve as a lesson to every politician claiming to be "clean".
