why on Earth would you want to? they are every bit as entitled to their personal spiritual beliefs as you are. they think you're just as wrong as you think they are, and I'm sure you wouldn't like it if they wanted to change your mind and argue with you. you have no right to try and change them. it's arrogant and rude, and on either side of the fence I find that attitude unnacceptable behaviour.

You can't. They have a different set of beliefs. God will eventually show them the light.

I'm not really sure what made you think it was condescending of me to respond that way. It's actually respecting opinions and beliefs of people. I'm a Catholic and I was brought up believing that it is only through God that people could be enlightened. Even the most zealot of religious people may not win over nonbelievers by themselves only. It is through the help and guidance of God that one becomes a believer. Atheists, like I said, have their own set of beliefs, and I respect that. And I am aware of my own limitations, and that's why I don't think I alone can win them over no matter how good an argument I present.

That's my point. I cannot speak on behalf of God. Anyways, I don't think this argument merits continuance since I feel that this is just going around in circles. It's obvious we have different points of view on this matter and I doubt we could resolve it. Have a nice day.

Ganesha - Ganesha image by Walter Apel.
You will never be able to make an atheist believe in the presence of a god or gods because you can offer no definitive proof that a god or gods exist. My question for you is why does it matter to you? Is your faith so weak that it must be buttressed and confirmed by persuading someone else that you are correct in what you believe? What is the god you refer to? Am I an atheist because I do not believe in the same god you do? In my own pantheon of gods I have chosen Ganesha as my patron god. Does this make me an atheist because I chose to believe in this god and not your god or does it make me something else?

You won't be able to win an arguement with an Atheist for a ton of different reasons here are some of them. This is an general statement of what Atheist Believe and may not represent all of them. 1. The Bible is written by man and is their for either fiction or Sci-fi (George Carlin was an Atheist and talks about the Bible in many of his routines.) 2. You can not prove the existence of God. 3. Dinosaurs aren't mentioned in the Bible because the Bible didn't exist till Humans evolved the ability to write. 4. The Hindu text predate the Bible (this point would be used to prove the bible is just another ranting of some really old men) 5. No Proof of world wide flood. 6. No Proof of a six day creation. 7. Earth is Billions of Years old as opposed to the 12,000 year old that most Christian belief structures support Atheist generally have a point of view that Science is the way of figuring out the universe and generally they subscribe to this idea. So if you can't prove it through Science or Science is pointing in a different direction then you aren't going to win an Argument with them.

You have provided a good argument to disprove the existence of the Abrahamic god but what of the other gods? There are many more concepts of god than the one provided by the Bible.

They all follow the same kind of thing. The Quran would be just as easy to disprove as it is related in a lot of ways to the Bible. The Bogmageta (Hindu Book) goes along the same lines this though due to the style of writing is easily taken into a spiritual since. It is a little harder to disprove but just as you can't use science to disprove something their is very little evidence for any religion beyond what the followers of said religion create. This includes Buddhism from which I am a follower of some of the teachings.

I don't think you should even try & "make" an Atheist nor anybody else believe in anything & I definitely don't argue with them!!! My job is to live my life in such a way as to let them see my light NOT stuff it down their throat!!! I believe that God gave us ALL free will to live as we choose. God created the Heaven & the earth & I believe He created the Atheists too!!! If asked a direct question about my beliefs I will respond. However, I will NEVER tell ANY non-believer that they HAVE to believe...or else!!! As odd as it may sound, I have a much BIGGER problem with Christians who attempt to force their beliefs on others than I do with the non-believers!!! If you're a true Christian, I believe you should be able to witness by example NOT force!!!!

No one can make anyone believe in God. That has led to many forced conversions and is a disservice to truth. And to God who has given us all free will. An exchange of ideas is not bad. To discuss and dispute is not bad. That is what we have minds for, to learn from one another. But once it degenerates into 'argument' it is time to leave it and let it be.

You don't argue with an Atheist about God, nor do you try to convince him to believe; the reason is that he will never want to lose the argument and won't believe you anyway. There is and old true saying "nobody wins an argument." God's Holy Spirit is the only convincing power that can convince. It's a spiritual issue, and can only be delivered spiritually; not by arguments. For God says in his Word, the Bible; it's not by power, nor by might but by my Spirit says the Lord. Think of the Apostle Paul, and his conversion. (Read it)

It's impossible for you to make atheist believe in god. Only the god can do that if it exist. But why would you want to make them? Other people's believes are non of your business.

To convince an atheist that God is real first define what God is. Then show them God as in find God and take pictures of him. Next make sure God is physical and convince God to come down and show himself. Have a bunch of people interview God. Have God take the James Randi test to prove his existence. arguments alone won't convince many atheist expect for the ones that are gullible.

Why would I want to argue with an atheist? Why would I want to argue with anyone about their beliefs? An exchange of ideas would be interesting, but not an argument. It is not ever up to me as to what another believes. If the way I live my life, causes another to become interested in my beliefs then that would be interesting. But, it would never be my right to force my beliefs on another.

Believing has never been important to God so it's no big deal if someone doesn't believe. Life is about learning and growing. The interaction of people is crucial to this. Point each other in the right direction. Learning comes with interaction. Yes, atheists and theists do have things they can teach the other. The value to win an argument is very small. Allow everyone freedom to choose but do point in the right direction. In the end, we all know God regardless.

well you just can't. each person has his/her own beliefs and opinions. some things you could persuade, and some you couldn't. it is a question of respecting that person. once an atheist, or any other person for that matter, knows what he believes in, all you have to do is to hear him out and let him be. it is up to him if he were to change his convictions (applies to both sexes).
