Australia were on track in their fourth consecutive title defense when they demolished New Zealand with seven wickets with more than 16 overs to go. Australia started on positive note right from winning the toss and electing to ball. The New Zealand top order crumbled against the pace trio of Lee, Tait and Johnson and were reduced to 73 for 6. Skipper Vettori and Nathan McCullum gave respectability to the total byscoring 44 and 52 runs respectively. But at the end 206 was too small a target for Aussies batting power house. Their openers Watson and Haddin started in grand fashion by adding 133 runs for the first wicket in just 18.1 overs. Haddin was more aggressive of the two making amends for his slow batting against Zimbabwe. Australia eventually romped home loosing just 3 wickets and in just 34 overs. With this win they have sounded warning to all concerned that they are back in the game and ready to defend their title for the record fourth time in a row.

Everybody knows that ausis will beat new-zealand but they will win by this margin thats a really big shame for kiwis. Australia is always a great threat for all playng teams but kiwis are strong too. What happen to them god know's only. After losing to bangla tiger's and indian they just vanished from cricket.

It was another disappointing match. It was another one sided match. New Zealand are on the back of real bad run and though they won their previous match by 10 wickets it was against minnows who have hardly played any top teams. Against top teams NewZealand have lost 12 on the bounce.
I think their top order does not know how to bat. In almost every match off late they have been 6 down for less than 100!!
Cheers!

I only saw a bit of it. I thought Lee bowled really well. But I thought that the New Zealend batsmen gave their wickets away. There is no way a teams like India, South Africa and Sri Lanka will get bowled out a cheaply as New Zealand did, if Johnson and Tait bowl loosely.
Although it looks like a spanking victory for Australia I think that the New Zealand batsmen helped out.
Having said all that I still think Australia wil be their or their abouts, due to them having e the experience to win trophies.
