I still remember when I was young, I love to go to a high peak of the Hong Kong Island by tram. It is called Victoria Peak . It was n't the highest mountain in Hong Kong but it is a place that every tourist will visit, otherwise it would be missing soemthing for a tourist. The peak was and is still a place where you can view the main area of Whole Hong Kong and the night view is just so beautiful. I still remember when I was young , I just love to go up to the highest point of the mountain and senjoy all the nice view from that place. I felt that everything become so small when I look down from the top of the mountain. It was really fun for a kid like me at that time. That was how I feel, what about you? Have you ever reach to the top of a mountain any where in the world or just in your city like me.Share with us?

When I was 18 years old I climbed up a mountain in Norway. Going back down it went rather foggy but at the top I had been able to enjoy seeing the view. Much more demanding was my climb of Mount Warning in Australia when I was 20 years old. Towards the top it was very steep and the view at the top was spectacular. Wow! When I was 29 years old I traveled to New Zealand. I had the most amazing day out in Northland. I was dropped off to climb a mountain. It was a medium climb but it took ages to get to the top. I kept stopping to take photos of the scenery out to sea. I got to the summit and saw a fantastic view and again took many more photos. I was shocked when I looked at my watch because it was way later than I had thought. I has to go down the experienced climbers route to save on time. Now, that was straight down and quite terrifying. I got a great sense of achievement when I got to the bottom. Then my day trip continued to Smuggler's Bay other delightful locations in that region. Talking of Hong Kong when I was there I stayed on the top of Mount Davis at the youth hostel. At night the sight of all the lights below were stunning.

Looks like you hav really travel to lots of places and I feel happy fro you that you can enjoy your life like that. I REALLY WNAT TO TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD TO THE PLACES WHERE i want to go. Unfortunately, money and time are the two most important factor and I ma not sure when will I travel again in the near future. I hope that I can go to lots of place s sych as France, Spain, Eangland,Scotland, Ireland, Norway, Finland,Switzerland, Austria, Denmark and Sweden, and actually all over Europe.I AM NOT SURE IF i want to go to Russia since the country seems not that safe. I want to go to Isreal and actually it is the only place that I want to go in the middle East. It is because all the other middle East countries seems not safe and not really friendly to the outsiders. At least I have experiences their people like that while I was still studying in Canada. It seems there are alwyas some hatred within their mind to anybody who is not Arabs.I don't know , maybe that's how I felt and may not be true . Sometimes, I think it is fun to travel with a ballon all over the world like the old movie : travel arorund the world in 80 days. But when I think of the weather, I think it is safe to travel by aeroplane in case of raining and thunder storm. Well, it is happy to dream about travel the world even when I am just typing with the computer in my own room for the time being. Travel?...oh... I love it when I have money. Up to now, I like New Zealand the best.(Unfortunately they alwyas have earthquake and the place I have been there befor : Christchurch had just expereinced an 6.5 earthquake and amny people got killed and one third of the houses in them got damaged.Although I am not living in there but I feel very sorry for all the people and the nice places in there. Don't know what happen to all thsoe nice view in that city now. I hope to go back sometimes in the future anyway.Have a good day.

By the way, i have just found a poem and I think it is worth to share it with you. It's life that we as people don't understand. We move through life as if we are the only ones with problems. It's time to take charge on life and have a better plan. No one will ever undersrand what you go though in life. You have to listen before you can talk. The road can is gravel until it's paved with your footsteps of hope. You can't run before you can walk. Life is hard like climbing rocks but success lies on the mountain top. Everyone always knows what's best before you even know what you want. Life has more to offer than the pain you go through. If success was on the other end of a broken bridge I bet you would jump. You can only fail if you don't try. You have to listen before you can talk. The road can is gravel until it's paved with your footsteps of hope. You can't run before you can walk. Life is hard like climbing rocks but success lies on the mountain top. Life is filled with uncertainty. But its up to you to keep moving forward in positive foot steps. Until the end of time mistakes help bring practice so failing serve as purpose. Take as many steps in life as long as you keep walking to the next. Life can be beautiful success when you see from the mountain top. by EcclesiastesJonah I hope you like it

Mountain View - A Mountain from Afar
When I was in my teens, together with my friends we would go to the mountain to picnic. We would bring food and eat together and would climb mango trees and pick fruits too. But those mountains are not as high as Victoria Peak. I can't actually risk myself in climbing stiff and tall mountains. But tall and beautiful mountains I do love to view and I like them as subjects of photography. I love standing near a mountain because the breeze is always cool and refreshing just as the scenery is.

Yeah, I like it but I do not like to right look down because I have the fear of the height. I only like to see view from afar. I had that experience too when I visited Hongkong 3 years ago but not in a tram. We rode the elevator to bring us to the top of the building and out on top of the mountain. It was really enjoyable. You can see the view down there in the city of Hongkong. It is nice to go up there in the evening to see the twinkling lights in the ships and boats. Really nice

Hello wildlittlefan, I am sure many of us like to stand on top of a mountain and have a feel of our position. I have been to one such peak during our awesome trekking trip. There is this place in the border of India and Nepal, "Sandakphu" and it's nearly 3.63 kilometers above sea level and we were above the clouds and the scene was such a beauty. Apparently it was almost near to freezing in the month of may. It was such a nice time with my friends, i can never forget. I also suffered from mountain sickness, where there is quite a difficulty in breathing because after 12000 feel the oxygen comes down to nearly 40% and some people have more trouble breathing properly than others and unfortunately i was one of them, i was becoming a concern to them. However we managed to get up there and we left the awesome place the next day. Oooh, it was so cold, we could almost eat anything because we were really exhausted with all the climbing during the trekking. If you have mountain sickness it would be a hard time for you if you are climbing a mountain.

I have tried to go to the top of Mount Makiling, when I was young during our jamboree task as a boyscout. Then, I also climb in one other reknown Chocolate Hills in Bohol, Philippines. It is quite an experience when you are in top of any place like the mountain top because you can feel the cold wind blowing in your body,so are the freahness of the air around the atmosphere is very sweet to inhale.I wish you are enjoying your trip.Try to visit the Philippines as I have been there in Hong Kong before.

Hi! I know what you mean. We have a place like Victoria Peak. Not exactly the same and no tram to carry you there. But it is high and there is a spot where you can stand and view the city. I used to sit there for hours and view of the city day or night. Love the night though as it gives you a view of the city with all the lights from houses and building and the moving. And the cool breeze. It has always been my dream to build a house either on the beach or the mountain where you can view the city. But it will remain in my with list. Alas!

I have never been really on a summit of a mountain, just hilly places when I sometimes go on road trips, but if I'm there, I could feel free and a gush of wind that envelops my whole body. The wind may be so cold, but I could feel warmth within.
