Your aunt has a daughter having cerebral palsy and she's nine years old. On the other hand you are not able to speak so you can't tell her that you are the one to carry her. In what way then to persuade your aunt to hand over the girl for you to carry? Let's say the girl weighs 23 kg.

A mute child can communicate with Makaton. My second oldest nephew is an elective mute. He is very shy indeed. If I was the nephew in your story I would ask do you want me to carry the girl using Makaton. I might also use hand gestures if my aunt didn't understand makaton. My disabled toddler son has got spina bifida and hydrocephalus. I know some children that have cerebral palsy.
