Virus wont attack your mobile phone unless you download and install 3rd party applications, if you only connect your mobile to your computor and use it as modem to explore the internet, nothing injury to your mobile. Bluetooh connection provide about 700kb/s speed as my experiences. I think this is quick enough for browsing websites, and if you think it's much too slow, think about your mobile service company. Also you can try to connect you mobile with cable, usually it's much faster than connect with bluetooth. The other way to share you mobile phone's internet service if your mobile can connect to wifi, you can try to search for something like 'share phone internet via wifi', there are many solutions for diffierent kind of devices. Hope these may help.

if you're looking for a faster and more stable connection, using a data cable would do the job better. unlike using bluetooth and its signal, data cable is directly connected to your mobile and computer. in the case of a virus attacking your mobile, if you're using a symbian OS mobile, there's no way a virus from your computer can harm your mobile.

Of course bluetooth is not a faster connection. I like to use Wifi because it is very fast. It enables me to surf the net by my cellphone. I love China
