Munaf Patel's 1 run in last ball(49.5) of Indian innings would have saved India.

In the last ball of indian innings(49.5 over) Zaheer and Munaf tried to run 2 runs and Zaheer was run out.
But Munaf Patel has not placed the bat inside the crease during the first run,so no runs on that ball .
If Munaf had placed the bat in crease India might have won.
There were many other situations were 1 more runs have been taken, but Iam just pointing out that it was the lazyness or carelessness of Munaf.
What do you think..........

surely that could have saved india.
Is he playing international cricket??
dont he know the value of a run in ODI??
this is like hobby match playing between school boys.
and he was also afraind to throw the ball in last over and take the run out, that too would have saved inida.
why he is feared to throw the ball??
dont he have the confidence that he can hit the stumps??, if so why should he play for india???

Yes, I agree, there were a quite a few mistakes that India made in that match. First of all the one run short and then the unnecessary run out with one ball left. Then Dhoni's mistake in throwing the ball to Piyush for the 49th over. Then Munaf bowling the ball up to the number 10 batsmen when he should have made him smell the leather!!
I think we were lucky to get away with a draw thanks to a big blunder by Strauss in the timing of Powerplay.
Cheers!

yes man after the initial 6 of his bowling i was quite tensed. he somewhat did a great job in keeping the ball in right spot and give only 1 run. but yes, i think the six of the first ball of shezad and the 2 six in the previous over of piyush bowling created the problem. :(

lets be honest people.
when a team scores around 220 against a good opposition, every run must count.understandable.
but the team has scored 337 runs before the last ball and you think that would has nearly cost india the match because some number 11 player failed to ground his bat properly?
i expected much better.
dont blame the quickies for letting run flow in the first 10.
never blame the captain for some below par field setting.
but blame a tail-ender for the loss.
in that innings, even tendulkar refused to run the second run.why dont you lame him?

Yes I too think on the same line. Matter of run, just one run and Munaf did not show comfortable in the last over. If one of his ball were not hit over boundary possibly India would win.

I was off course his laziness
where i live they called munaf as a lazybone and he proved that too
but what happened .happened so nothing can be done...
we lost the game not only because of this reason but i series of reason which off course now can only be discussed

what a match this is.. wow i hope if it is a final match then it could be a real feast to cricket lovers. Zaheer is the man who turned the entire match.Piush tird his level best. But that six, he cant do coz the batsman was a pinch hitter. I wish if haribajan was there to bowl that over, then he can take into his control of runflow
