India and England in thrilling tie

India and England tied a thrilling World Cup clash here on Sunday in a match which yielded 676 runs and was adorned by blistering centuries from Sachin Tendulkar and Andrew Strauss.
England, chasing a World Cup record 339 to win, finished on 338 for eight having scored 13 off the last over when 14 were needed for victory.
Zaheer Khan's dramatic three-wicket burst turned the match back in India's favour after England captain Strauss's man-of-the-match winning innings of 158.
“It is one of my most memorable knocks, given the importance of the game,” Strauss said. “We have shown everyone with this effort that we are a force to reckon with.”
All these words are written in a very formal way about match description to attract the audience.. but in short.. I found it very interesting match.. it was the best result could come as neither India nor England had shown any special effort to win the match..

It definitely was a thrilling match. And this world cup needs more matches like this. It was against two evenly matched sides with good batting and poor bowling. It also re-iterates two of my thoughts, one that no target is safe on the subcontinent pitches and the second one that more teams are evenly balanced this time around and any of 4-5 teams can win this world cup.

this was an excellent match, england was going to win the match easily.
they took the power play and ZAk bowled a beautifull spell and brought india back in the match.
but the tail enders of england showed good courage and batted welll under pressure and managed a tie.

Hi lovedude,
It was Indian tail enders' lackadaisical approach that I feel responsible for the tie or else if India had scored 15 or more England would not be chasing this so easily.
But looking into the match impartially England showed more conviction and they really tried to win but something else was waiting for both the team and the match had no win no loss.
It was enjoyable indeed.

Yes have to say that the best match so far in this worldcup. What a great match to enjoy. Thanks to india and england cricket team to give us a good match to watch. Well i supported england so it were more good if england win. But at last they finished it gorgeously.

yes it was an absolutely brilliant match i have ever watched . strauss was brilliant & at last zaheers show was very interesting which brings light in the match at the end. & hope we will see more match in this world cup which will make us entertain.
