hi friends. i always wondered this thing about medias. when india wins matches, all media praise showers on team, individual play and ofcourse the captain.HE IS EXCELLENT.HE IS MARVELLOUS.BLAH BLAH BLAH. when team loses ,atleast mentally, all you can find is only one phrase.UNIMAGINATIVE CAPTAINCY somewhere cramped into some 1000 words report and nothing else. now to the topic. our batting has been excellent.2 330 + scores in 2 consecutive matches. some good fielding towards the end but what stands out leaving team like bangladesh to start extremely positively and let them score 280 odd runs or letting a team a lil below confidence to set the pace for almost 43 overs of their innings and take a tie as a win to be even frank,i wanted them to lose badly so they will finally see the glaring problem in the team which is going to be the hurdle in lifting the cup. their bowling. they are not playing 40 overs match. but they have bowlers for only 40 overs and let the 10 overs between part-timers. even the bowlers who bowls the 40 overs r not settled. zaheer pretty much missed half the season last year. munaf and sree burst into the season just before the end of last year and chawla wasn't even in the picture a month ago. only good thing is bhajji. why are they afraid to use 5 bowlers? dont they have confidence in their top 6 batsmen? sorry guys but this team can win world cup with their batting but probably not reach there with this bowling.

Dear Star Dust for m it looks very difficult for India to reach finals even from the observations I made from yesterday's match against England, for the simple reasons as under: 1. As every body of us know that we don't have good bowling line, it would be no point here to discuss about it! It was very well has been demonstrated yesterday in the field! 2. We have equally bad fielding by the players and the prominent players like even Sachin couldn't stop some important boundaries at least a couple of times. 3. Indian teams fitness has been always a question mark and yesterday the players were seen on the field as if they are taking rest on the field instead of fielding! 4. We have some players in the team who are great but not at all dependable like Sehwag, Pathan etc. who got out in a silly manner! 5. Though we say that we have got a strong batting like, the tail enders in spite of having he talent of making the runs, they collapsed at the end like a castle of cards and what else can be more disgraceful thing,a team with excellent batting line couldn't play complete 50 overs! 6. India couldn't use the advantage of home ground and at the same time England team has shown the determination and in spite of "out side" team treatment from local crowd and proved their mettle. 7. Century by Sachin is is commendable but the century by Strauss over shadowed his century as the latter has made his century under the pressure. 8. The determination of the tail enders of the England team has shown extremely fantastic temperament by hitting two sixes at the very end of the match to make all the difference, this type of determination is definitely lacking in our team! 9. Indian players possibly because of the hype by TV channels were seen over confident and they got a good lesson yesterday. Confidence is OK, but over confidence can be disastrous! 10.Last but not the least, we lack the do or die attitude and also lack the killer instinct which we need to learn from our neighbouring teams like Srilanka and Pakistan! So if these areas are not taken care , I think we will be hardly reaching finals and this World Cup tournament will be again be an another World Cup Tournament! What pinches one most is Sachin would be deprived the privilege of being the member of a Winning World Cup Team, in spite of having so many records under his belt! Thanks !

ok some very good observation but you seem to have forgot or missed one big thing. why struss made 158 without breaking a sweat? because of our bowlers.true but you forgot the captain.

ya surely indian bowling doesnt look like a champion teams attack. It was a silly approach by the team when it comes to bowling. field placement by the captain was also not good. bowlers initially gave away more runs thinking that they will win this match easily. Indian team should learn from mistakes and play cricket seriously. then only India can go up in the tournament.

Simple make more than 338 :). But truthfully speaking, on subcontinent pitches no score is defendable. But having said that I was disappointed by some of the choices that Dhoni made. Especially asking Piyush to bowl the 49th over. I was also disappointed by the fact that Munaf bowled a half volley to a number 9 batsman when the ball should have been at the shoulder level. I think it was poor fielding and poor bowling by our bowlers over all. I think Ashwin is a better bowler than Piyush in ODIs and he should be playing ahead of Piyush as far as I am concerned. Cheers! lol.my thoughts exactly. now we know the par score.338. so from here on,we shouldn't score less than 338 which means we have to depend on the top 3 to keep hitting centuries in all the forthcoming matches. we can't change the team into a fielding unti all of a sudden. we dont expect them to dive and catch like collingwood or rhodes. just pick the ball cleanly and cut the 2's. ashwin is better choice with powerplay uses

I think Ashwin should definitely be in the team. Let's see what Dhoni does from here on. Cheers! Ram

Agreed That bowling is weak, But what about imagination & guile?? When Zaheer has an off day, the whole team seems helpless. India does not have any wicket taking bowlers other than Zaheer. I agree that Bhajji is bowling decently but he is no way near threatening. Your point of going in with 5 bowlers makes sense. Some strange tactics from Indians in last match. 1) No yorker except for the one ball to strauss. Munaf probably cannot bowl one. 2) No Bouncers, except for one down the leg side to yardy. 3) No aggressive field despite scoring 338. 4) Players not trying to run out batsmen & trying to stop bowl with legs. I am sure that this team needs to look at changing the bowling the lineup & lifting commitment ( especially munafs) levels, Hopefully this was just an awfully off day !

true about zaheer. as i said once, zaheer is the sachin for the bowlers.he has an offday, everyone suffers. as for 5th bowler, people should get over their egos and play 5 main bowlers atleast against the minnows team so they can test it. i also thought the aggresive fielding set was missing. kp kept hitting straight but they didn't try something like straightening the mid-on fielder or bring in a short mid-on . strauss kept sweeping.didn't try having a short backward square so as to warm him if you mistime one,we got man to catch you. how can you call someone who bowls half-trackers as your 5th bowler and why pathan has not been tried long enough.he got better control.heck he even opened bowling for the royals. seems warne has better opinion about pathan than dhoni

Dont estimate a team with one performance. Some time India may score 250 and will restrict it. Yesterday it was a flat batting pitch ,expecially in the second innings. And India didnt have a Quality Bowling attack. And the fielding is also substandard. All the players are not fielding well. And usually the Dhonis field placements will give us success, but he also failed in that case. Any way I would say that India shoul;d improve their bowling attack if they want to win this WC

very good observation, i feel like we have the strongest betting line up on paper but we r lacking in bowling and it doesnt mean anything because we dont have any bowler on the bench whom we can give chance to.so whatever we have to has to be done by these bowler only.and if they go for 5 bowler then who should be the 5th bowler?

It seems our batters need to score 350+ in every matches to get us the cup.But still I feel we are being a bit too harsh.Chinnaswamy is no Premadasa, there are no demons in the ground under lights. And besides,no offence Strauss the pitch even became more flat in the second issnings as all the juice dried up in the very first 10 overs of the match. There was no due to give the english batters some real spinning shock.Anyways our bowlers barring Zaks and Bhajji did not do their job.I feel Ashwin should be given a chance in the next match.Lets hope our bowling atleat becomes average so that some pride can be salvaged.
