I think that it depends on the person as to how much pain he or she can tolerate. People who underwent so much in their lives have the tendency to tolerate so much pain compared to other people. People who are used to have the so called "easy life" tolerates only a little pain. What do you think about this?

depends on what kind of pain. if you are talking about birth, our body became immune to that pain in giivng birth, its like its so painful that you do not feel, its the adrenaline that is responsible for that i guess. but iwth other pain, like needles and all i am so totally not into it hahaha i easily feel it to the point that i cry easily...

THat's what mymom said, it is too painful that you don't actually feel it, I don't know about that but I think it was definitely a big relief as soon as the baby poped out!

but I don't think I would call exercising painful but very tiring... I wish I could get to run marathon. I thought people can only do maximun 2 times of C-section, maybe I'm wrong.

I am not so sure whether I have a high tolerance for pain…I know I don’t like it LOL! I have endured several painful surgeries including childbirth and I too have to wonder how I managed. I did receive pain medication when I had an infection on my knee lanced but when it wore off I felt the most excruciating pain ever and I had to drive my daughter and I home! I remember crying from the pain but I got us home...

I think what you are saying is called epidural. I planned not to take any medication because I have heard the negatives of it andsomehow I went throught it on my own so I think I will do that again the next time without any medication.

I think woman have a pain threshold that is a lot higher than men. I will screech if i get a paper cut and yet, my wife will go to work with a high fever and chills and work throughout the day. Men just have a lower tolerance for pain than woman. That's why all you men out there should always appreciate and love your women because they go through so much for us men without us even knowing it sometimes.

I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. I have a bad knee and a bad back, and I work every day, so I have to be able to take it.

I think it's all a mind set. During childbirth we know there's a purpose for our pain, and we know what the end result will be.. a baby. So the pain is worth it. Other pains like an ear ache or tooth ache are not worth it so we cannot tolerate it as much.

It's called "being a Mommy"!!!! The STRONGEST muscle in the human body is the one attached to a delivering baby!!! Men can't understand simply because they don't have it!!!!

Hi mermaidivy, That is wonderful, specially when you gave birth to your baby without external assistance. You can bear pain surely. For me other than head ache I can tolerate all kinds of pain. When I was in my 7th standard I had a deep cut on my left leg and doctors said I needed stitches. There are no local anesthesia not the usual needle to do the stitching. I was lying on the bed and those people were holding me as it was too painful. And since then I do not mind pain.

My husband can tolerate pain, if he bleeds from being cut, he won't scream and stuff.

hello ivy, Yes,i can tolerate pain, but sad to say that i never experienced giving birth the natural way. I always wanted to have my babies delivered in natural way,but i can't,and that's one of my frustration. I really wonder why other women can deliver births on normal method while others can't. but i am happy though, coz my babies are all healthy and how are grown ups. Have a great day

Not sure about physical pain, but I think I have a high tolerance for emotional pain. Which I think is even worse than the physical type. In fact, I suffer through some pain everyday. And I keep a smile to my face so nobody has to know about what I am going through. I think your baby is a lot healthier for going through natural child birth. Congratulations!

I have low tolerance for pain, too. Usually, when pain hits like a headache or something, I immediately grab a painkiller. Surprisingly, though, I could endure painful toothaches and more painful dental procedures. I don't know why. Some women are really lucky to experience almost painless birthing. Lucky you. Although I heard that the moment you see your baby, all sort of pain you experienced just a little while back disappears.

It was painful for sure, but it was amazing that when I finally saw my baby, I just forgot all the pain and focused on him immediately

Yes, I do. I suffer from migraines, that are incredibly painful, so that has dulled most other kinds of pains for me. I barely feel a thing from things that bother a lot of people a lot. But that said, I have not had a baby yet.

No! I don't like pain in any form! I recently had a cycling accident and I broke my left shoulder and as a result of that I have been in so much pain and I have been going through pain killers like there is no tomorrow! In terms of your own pain, I have no understanding of that whatsoever being of the male species! It sounds wonderful though that you were able to go through that naturally without any help. It tems of my own pain I'm just counting down the days and months that pass by until my shoulder fully heals and the pain just disappears. Andrew

I can only agree that women have a much more resisitence in front of pain and they can endure much more pain without complaining as us,men, usually have.I don't think I have high tolerance on pain and I realize there are people who endure a lot and I admire them for their courage.
