Elvis and the Beatles...as long as there is music and musicians, they will stand the test of time...Bruce Lee as he was and always will be a legend to any generation...Bin Laden, he changed the world in a single day..destroying in minutes what had taken decades to build, and the lives he destroyed...Linda Lovelace..well, as long as there are men.... I had thought..not for long though...about the younger generation now..most have no idea who Humphrey Bogart is, you mention Betty Davis and they're like "I think she's an aunt of mine"..clueless. Maybe the Kennedy's would last the test of time...maybe ARNOLD would too. So taking into account that if most of the people of my generation would think of as a legend, and knowing those same people get the HUH response from the younger generation now...what happens with the next generation after them? Maybe KISS will stand the test of time, as I know even little kids are fans of theirs....so maybe I should have included KISS...EVERYONE knows who they are. Thank you, murkie!!!

i would agree with JC. but barrack obama? i am not familiar with his legacy, though, except for the fact that he is the current president of the usa. maybe you have reasons why. if being the president would make him famous after so many years, probably most of the presidents would be too.

That's a very vague question to answer. But I just want to give a guess. In our society or even in the whole world, Presidents or the leaders who have made a big impact in their own country will still be famous 1000 years from now. It's either he did the best thing for his country or the worst. Corrupt government officials especially Presidents of the country will always be remembered or the other way around. People who have done heroic act for the country will always be famous no matter how many centuries will pass.

true. but i guess they would be famous in their own places. well, yes the qiestion is vague (though i only realized it now). considering the geographical and political regions (among other aspects), what maybe famous in one community may not be in others.

Me. LOL. No I think that certain US presidents will remain famous and GOD of course. This question makes me want to be around to answer it. Dd they invent a pill to stop the aging process? If they have it I'll take it. It's hard to tell what the world will be like in a 1000 years from now, lets just hope that by then They get their S--t together and everyone will be on the same page.

yeah, i hope so too. but ifever they could find a way to live up to more than a thousand years, i wouldn't want it. a hundred years would be too much already. LOL.

Hi, for me that man would be George Washington the father of one of the greatest nation on this planet. He is such a great man that he would not be forgotten even in two thousand years.

yes he is a great man. being the founder of a nation, he is sure never to be forgotten in history. especially if the nation he founded would continually flourish after so many years.

Jesus, Plato, Einstein. My favorites :D Jesus because he was one of the wisest people of all time, Einstein because he was one of the most intelligent people of all time and Plato because he has probably provided the link to mankind's ancient past. Cheers

Wow. interesting thought. That would be 3011. Maybe by then, the end of the world has already happened, and this question might become irrelevant. If it hasn't and God is being patient, yes, I believe Jesus will still be most famous. I know it even though I won't be on earth to see it. Hmm...will myLot still be around? oops...no offense. Most of us member nows definitely won't be. hehe.

Many. Of course. Its very important to the next generation to not forget the past, where the beginning of something lies. People of the next thousand years won't be forgetting Jesus, Buddah, and Muhammad of course because they are the most known prophets of different religions. People in the next 1000 years would still retain those religions, right? The giants on science - Newton, Einstein, Mendel and many other scientists. They would not be forgotten because they became one of the foundations of the human society today. Human would not live or think as they do today (and also at future) without them. Got the logic there? On present day, I know Obama would be still famous on the next generations because he is the first black-american (is that the right term?)to ever become the president of U.S. His reign also served as the symbol of the unity of american and african society. Racial discriminations are lowered in vast percentage.

yes, we can see that. but we should also be aware that we are sitting on the notion that people a millenia from now would have the way of thinking the same as we have today. what if some time in the future something happens to alter our society? religion would take a different course, prior discoveries would be contradicted by new ones, and even the issue of discrimination would be unheard of. we have ideas before that were discredited by ideas recently thought of. we do not know for sure. all we could do for now is to speculate. we have our own opinions anyway. nothing conclusive.
