Cooked rice is used to treat diarriah (?) in cats and dogs. If they like it, and want it on a regular basis, I don't think it will harm them.

Cats will eat rice. They like it better if you add a bit of meat juice or egg yolk or cheese or milk to it. Anything to give it a bit of taste. If you can afford it, add some meat to the rice. Kitty will love you.

You can still feed him even though he is not your cat. Just don't give him anything with onions or chocolate. Both are toxic to cats. Kitty will be very happy to get a good meal.

Cats are strictly meat eaters unlike dogs. They can have tiny amounts of non-meat items as treats... on a rare occasion. A better treat is boneless cooked chicken or cooked beef. Mainstay cat food can be bought at the pet food store. ~ I don't think this cat is eating the rice but just playing with the grains. If you can spare the rice, it is harmless as I am sure other critters come to eat what the cat scatters. ~ A steady diet of rice or granola type food can damage cats. Some can actually go blind.

It was something I saw on a show on Animal Cops. However, I don't recommend talking to random strangers on how to attend to the needs of a cat. I recommend asking a vet. Here is a website where you can ask a vet or cat doctor such questions for free. Cat doctors know what they're doing in handing out such advise... ~ http://www.askavetquestion.com/ ~

We didnt have cats before when I was young cause my parents dont like cats but there were some cats from the neighborhood that would come and visit our house and they eat the rice we usually left outside. I even had this friend who's cat eat vegetables especially the green leafy ones.

Sure does. I know because I have three cats; they prefer a meal of rice, fish and a bit leafy vegetable. Only I have to mix their meal well so they'll eat the vegetable. During night time, I feed them with cat food. They're so choosy and they prefer natural foods rather than the conventional cat food.

Hi eshaan, I did keep cats as pet before. They were quite picky and loved fish and other seafood only. So that we had to prepare such food for them. They would simply walk away if solely plain rice was served Might be Siamese cat is choosy in food. My neighbor in the left house keeps many cats. I notice that they would eat plate of rice mixed with chopped fish and gravy. I wonder if without the tiny pieces of fish gravy they still eat the rice. I think your visitor tried to look for food it favored from the rice Happy posting

Hi eshaan,to my knowledge they eat rice, but not plain rice, its rice mixed with some smell of fish and if its more hungry then some other curry but the smell of fish attracts it the most, even i'm not having pets but like you, i am also having some naughty visitors which will always scatter whatever they find on the kitchen platform, dining table and all...

Oh yes, cats do eat rice. We have 5 cats before and we usually give them rice and fish or meat. In fact what we eat are the foods we also give them. Our staple food is rice so everytime we feed them, there is rice in it. I some instances, we give them rice only, but they don't eat so much because they got used to eating rice with meat or fish.

Yes! they do it rice and even some vegetables. I have a pet cat and there are three of them which makes me proud, because I really like animals. Cats eat rice for like filling purposes. It is used as a digestive aid when a pet has diarrhea. If given too much it would cause bloating and constipation. But this cannot be a main diet for a cat.

It is scattering the rice looking for a tasty morsel...not that plain stuff. If it is not eating it all it must not be too hungry. My cat eats tinned cat food and dry cat food, I make the dogs a porridge mix with oats, barley, meat and veggies, sometimes I use rice and the cat loves that as well...prefers the cat food but will still pinch some of the dogs food when I put it out for them.

Hi Shibham How is your cat dear? Did it jump over the television yet. Dont worry about the roti(chapati) thing, I will give you that when you visit me and yes, it would be softer than you think @didi Well, I have not many encounters with cats but yes, they do eat the rice, and love fish (its smell kind of attracts them)

Hi dear, From my childhood to this date we had a lots of cats at home. As our main food course consists of rice, we used to give them rice only. If it mixed with some fish or any non veg. they will eat as much as they want. If they hungry, they will eat plain rice also without mix of any gravy or anything. Thank-s

Hi hi hi some cats eat even orange ;) My cat very eats white of egg. When the cat hears that banged egg shell, the cat runs to avoid late own (but in general my) meal. Often (whenever I remember) to boil two eggs, cat appetite is a good egg, he can eat up all egg. To me this seems like a lovely ritual shared a meal with my beloved cat. :) And ofcourse cat eat rice too, my cat eat ;)
