some say r9 doesnt look like a king however he's been dominating for last 20 years. a king, that means there's one who ranks every soccer palyer and who ranks the whole list of greatest ones.who do you think it is? i wanna put this in highlight---i will rank them only by their personal level but not any team honors,i am telling this because i have found that there are some people who can not tell one from another,so they even thought low as ronaldo when he won the no.1 player in 1996 because he didnt win any team trophy in that year. but yet according to my light that exactly indicates he was no.1 one even without team honors that makes him even better. so indeed ronaldo is not a king because of his personality, but on the other hand some wouldnt get him crowned in soccer history because he didnt reach his peak of personal level in most years of his career,am i right? so what's your take about him and what's your ranking list of all of them?

I do not think Ronaldo has dominated for 20 odd years. In fact he has had some 4-8 good years depending on how much he got to play each year with the injuries he got involved in. He has won a lot at the club level and of course, he is a world cup winner. But I think injuries cut down a lot of what he could have achieved. Cheers! Ram

No, I do not deem him too low. Don't get me wrong. I consider Ronaldo to be a great player and great striker. I enjoyed his Barca and Real Madrid days. But you are comparing him with the likes of Pele who won three world cups and was a real star in and off the game. You are then talking about Maradona who won one world cup single handedly and then took Argentina to antoher world cup final not to mention his exploits at the club level. Cheers! Ram

Ronaldo is a great player, yes. He is a legend, yes. He was no.1 player in the world, yes, probably once, twice or more. But to me, at the top first of my legendary player is: Zidane. :) Like it or not, you may comment about it.

Ronaldo at least needs to be regarded as a legend. His scoring qoute alone proves enough, and although many disagree with me i have not seen many other who can handle the ball aswell at high speed ( And yes, i think so even though i know that messi, robben, etc. are similar good). I think to become a legend the most important factor is to be regarded by the fans as such. And if he is cheered in brasil as a king/legend, than well... he is.

I have to tell you that I have made an article about Ronaldo after he retired. You can check it out here. http://sportales.com/soccer/ronaldo-luis-nazario-de-lima-a-legend/

In my opinion Ronaldo was a king, now he is a legend. Maybe he has not won many trophies, but he has one the greatest one 2 times. From 1994-2002 he was just excellent on the Brazillian nationalteam. (He was also excellent, when he was playing in clubs". He was a big part of the Brazillian team, which reached the World cup final 3 times out of 3, and they won 2 of them. Ronaldo is the most scored World cup player in the history, which is quite impressive. I didn't know how Pele and Maradona played, because I didn't exist at that time. But I would say that he is at least as good as Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi. Probably better, since he also showed his excellence on the nationalteam, and it the world cup.
