Local School Boards and City Governments Cutting Themselves at the Knees

As we speak, a lot of the cities and school boards are rushing to offer new contracts with the unions so they won't be subject to Gov. Walkers Budget Repair Bill. Other than the fact that these school boards and local governments are supposed to be the ones negotiating with unions, not siding with them, there is another huge problem. After the new budget is passed, state funds will be drastically reduced to the cities. It also puts restrictions on state and local tax increases. In other words, these school districts and city governments will be required to honor those contracts, but won't have the money to continue running with them. The only alternative they will have is to lay off workers and cut programs. In trying to put it to Walker, the unions, the cities and the school boards are screwing over the very people they LIE about looking out for.

And who will they layoff? People who perform essential services - police, fire, trash removal - so they can then say "look what we had to do because of Scott Walker". And... people will believe it.
